I'm curious--How Many Have an EPIRB?

ACR CAT II with the ditch bag Comm. flare kit for 50 miles off ......... whole bag o' stuff. Don't leave the dock without it !

I purchased one 2 years ago at a boat show,the price was down to $718.00 and I'm considering buying another one just for peace of mind of having two on board.

Ok, I'll chime in on the don't have one list. Nothing against them but I just haven't bought one. Yes I spend a reasonable time offshore.

I brought an EPIRB before I got my boat

Just got the new FastFind PLB with GPS. Amazingly small. Also have handheld gps and floating vhf for ditch bag. Currently shopping for raft.

BTW, I'm kind of suprised that some people have an EPRIB but say that they "only have it on boat when they go offshore".....if you are going to have one, why the heck doesnt it just stay on the boat ALL the time????

Yep. EPIRB plus handheld gps and two hand held vhf's. All in ACR Ditch bag.
