  1. Thanks, I appreciate the response. I going to give it a shot, what have I got to lose?
  2. Why no prices for any of the boats you have listed?
  3. There you go! Getting older doesn't mean we can keep fighting the good fight, it just means we have to work smarter, not harder. I tell my boys that all the time.
  4. Welcome. You will find that the traffic moves a bit slower here than at other boating/fishing sites. That is not necessarily a bad thing, it just means that sometimes information comes a little more slowly. The one thing I believe you will find here is that folks tend to be friendly and helpful. I have yet to find the sarcastic, caustic comments you find on some other sites. I am not being critical of any other sites because I frequent them as well, just saying the folks here tend to be more laid-back. Anyway, welcome. Enjoy and feel free to participate, contribute or just sit back and read.
  5. I have been working on restoring a 14' fiberglass jon boat that we have had for years. I am not quite through but need to start thinking about propulsion. I have a 15 Hp Mariner that came with the boat. Based on serial #, I have determined that it is a 1986 (Yamaha built). This motor actually has less than 20 hours on it but has been sitting for more than 10 years. The rope pulls so nothing seems to be seized up. I imagine that the carb needs rebuilding and the fuel system needs to be cleaned out. Additionally it needs new plugs, the lower unit should be drained/refilled and the water pump should be rebuilt. What if anything else should I do with this motor? I am pretty mechanical though I have never done all this stuff. Is this too much to attempt? Should I just take it to a shop? Just trying to save some $ and learn something in the process. Any help/advice appreciated. Thanks
  6. Getting old ALWAYS beats the alternative. I get frustrated at times because I can't work as long and as hard as I used to be able to but at least I can get out there and still keep kicking. I don't plan to slow down until they are throwing dirt on my head. Come on, fight the good fight and tell death to kiss yo azz.
  7. Done, because I can't not help a fellow S. Carolinian.
  8. Niger huh? I have a canoe they could put a trolling motor on. That would probably be an upgrade from what they currently have.
  9. Nope, not for $15. Yes, I am cheap but what I have now has never failed me and cost a lot less.
  10. I have never had the opportunity to use any of your products but who doesn't like a discount? Bring it on.
  11. I am sure I am one of the less "desirable" types of customers dealers are looking for because I can't see myself ever buying a new boat. I am a middle class guy that can't bear the depreciation so unless I win the lottery will be one of those guys that looks for a good used boat. As far as boat shows are concerned, I think they will always have a place as far as consumers are concerned. Looking on the internet is nice but actually being able to see a boat, compare features, etc.. can't be done on the net. My sons and I love go to the boat show in Charleston every year even though I have no intention of buying a boat. The opportunity to see new products and dream about what might be one day is worth the price of admission.
  12. My boat cover is 5 - 6 years old now and still in pretty good shape. I would like to make it more water repellent than it currently is. Does anyone out there have a product they would recommend that I can spray on to improve its water repellency? Thanks
  13. Is anyone out there familiar with Castalia Low-Vis braided line? I found 330 yard spools for $9.99 but did not want to buy it without knowing anything about it. Thanks
  14. Let's face it, we are a civilization that watches shows like Jersey Shore and Idolizes some white trash skank named Snookie. Does the fact that people admire Bo really surprise anyone?
  15. Man, that sucks. I'm going fishing tomorrow. Should be chilly in the morning (56) and then around 78 later in the day. Guess that is one of the many reasons I live in the South. The trout and reds are really biting now. Sounds like it is going to be a long winter.
  16. Nice looking shirt, keep us posted.
  17. Thanks, I spewed coffee on my computer. Well, not MY computer, my work computer.
  18. That's just wrong...................................funny but wrong. I would love to see the look on a kids face when they bit into one.
