  1. Looks like I was wrong http://www.snopes.com/photos/boats/drugrunner.asp
  2. Although I have seen others like it to run drugs this one was made to showcase a company's steering system. I can't remember the company's name but they had the pictures of the boat all over their website.
  3. The handle was the first clue and it looked very similar to the 300ge series.
  4. Birdsall Marine makes them http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/T-Top-Rod-B...essoriesQ5fGear Looks like you just cut a hole and the bushing clamps on using the screws.
  5. I remember the old ones and they are huge I'd much rather install and in-hull or thru hull transducer.
  6. Replace the old speakers and go with a new deck too. Clarion makes a good stereo you shouldn't have any trouble with it skipping. I would try to haggle a bit with the local dealer but most won't match internet pricing. One thing to keep in mind is that some manufactures will not honor warranties if purchased through places like eBay or any other "unauthorized retailers"
  7. I've heard that Power Tech has 3 and 4 blade props to fit the 350. I couldn't find them on their web site, but you may want to give them a call to find out.
  8. If you are looking to install a second VHF as a back up I would install a second antenna as a backup too.
  9. I have a 3210 network bundle in may dad's boat. Which consists of a 3210, GMR 18 radar, GSD 22 sounder, and a GDL 30a all connected to the GMS 10 network port expander. Everything has worked great for a long time but this weekend the GMS 10 would not turn off when I turned off the 3210. This is a pain because it also does not shut off all of the other attached accessories. I'm thinking that the GMS 10 is dead. Has anyone ever run into this problem before?
  10. That is expensive I would prefer Yamaha personally, but did get a quote from a Suzuki dealer on a left over 20" Suzuki 150 for $8500 a couple of months ago. Don't remember if that quote included anything but the motor.
  11. They have worked ok but have broken down frequently. Thankfully factory support is very good. I have had them for about 3 years and to date I have replaced both actuators, sent one motor in for repair, and replaced the control unit. Everything was covered by the warranty except for the control unit which was ~$500 to replace.
  12. I've got a dual pro charger that I leave pluged in all the time. Once it fully charges my batteries it goes into a trickle charge mode. I do check the batteries and add water every 6 months or so. They usually don't need much if any at all.
  13. Diffidently sounds like you have air in the system. Top the system off and check for leaks. Make sure all the connections are tight. Since air was introduced you need to purge the steering system of air otherwise it will still be a little bumpy.
  14. Shes looking really good. That's gonna be a really nice fishing boat when your done with it.
  15. I have never used an engine mounted trolling motor, but I have a set of Lenco trolln' tabs on my current boat. Its nice not having a bow mounted motor to get caught on when fishing or throwing a cast net, but it is much more difficult to control the boat with the transom mounted motors. The bow tends to swing left and right easily especially in windy conditions. If I was to do it all over again I would go with a bow mounted trolling motor.
  16. I installed the GDL 30A in my Dad's last two boats. He has been very happy with it. He has the Fisherman package it displays offshore weather buoy info, pressure, sea surface temperature, NOAA forecasts, nexrad radar and a lot more info. It has allowed us to better plan our day offshore to avoid rain. If you spend a lot of time offshore it is worth the investment.
  17. Wow t-top looks great. That wheel looks familiar
  18. The garmin network cables can also be shortened. They are Cat 5 computer network cables. All you need to shorten them is a RJ45 crimper that you can but at any Lowes or Home Depot. The radar comes with a spare cable end but you can also buy them from Garmin.
  19. I do it all the time just be careful around upholstery and use a nozzle with a wide spray pattern. Its save a ton of time and makes washing down non skid decks much easier.
  20. I have been looking of installing underwater lights on my boat for some time, but I have been looking at LED. From what I have read the OceanLED stuff is the best but the price is very steep. I have been leaning towards ordering a set from scarabchris over on THT. http://www.coastalnightlights.com/styles.html The lights look well built and LED will theoretically last longer and will diffidently consume less battery power.
  21. I'll second the water pressure gauge. They're great to have when your trim up to run through the shallows.
