  1. Could be the muffs. I have a 200HPDI. Alarm went off when I used muffs. Now I use the flush hose on the motor and do not run motor when flushing. I also have used SaltAway since the motor was new. Also have a cattle tank to drop motor in when decarbing or when I take out of storage first part of season, Also connect a hose with running water in the tank to keep it cool. If not water will become to hot.
  2. Boat US is my choice. Get an Agreed Amount policy. You have some coverage for fuel spill and they are boat people.
  3. I turned 70 this year. Still think 25. Back hurts legs hurt but I still go fishing. This is Salmon season out here. Nieghbor a good fishing buddy is 76 and still taked his boat out fishing in Monterey Bas as I do. Everyone helps clean the boat and unload when back. You have to get old but you don't have to grow up. WQeek days are best no crowds at the ramp. Will keep boating and fishing the ocean until I can't stand up. Then I will go with someone younger.
  4. Don't know where you are located. If you are near a Costco they have good prices on Michlin. Couple of years ago I had a piece of metal scoot across the freeway and wack my tire. Got schredded. Costo replaced free under road hazzard warranty.
  5. Had been getting Trailer Boats Magazine for 20+ years. Stopped it as got way to thin and took out Tow car and Trailering part. Now I onyy get Pacific Coast Sport Fishing, Western Outdoor News and Fish Sniffer. Cancelled Sport Fishing and Salt Water Sportsman when they took out Fishing Tips section.
  6. Chark Bait has them with a metal tip. check it out. Have them on their weekly special.
  7. Not to long ago I read a post regarding a recall on certain Volvo Penta motors and outdrives. A friend just called with major expensive repairs. Does anyone have any information on this recall. It may save a good friend a lot of money.
  8. Wife, daughter, and son-in law got me to go weekend of the forth. Loved the movie and the out-takes were histerical.
  9. Alan, I carry a hub with bearirings on my spare. I f spin a bearing remove wheel and replace.
  10. Yup. Just like a lot of insurance company adjusters that don't no everythung their policys cover. That was always fun. Once had a company adjuster say there was no coverage for asbastos. I told him he was absolutly right re Libility coverage. BUT, This is a FIRE loss. Show me the money insurance boy.
  11. If a boat has a head, then why does it have a poop deck?
  12. Replaced four plus the spare with Towmasters. Went to my local Goodyear store. Manager recommended the towmasters over the marathons. That was three years ago and have not had any problems. Always keep proper inflation.
  13. When I was in college 1960, and in a fraturnity a few of us were sh-t kickers and liked to sing C&W . Got the knickname Sidewinder and it stuck. Used to piss off the brothers who liked to be cool.. The women would like to hang with us and sing and...thats another story. All of my boats have been named Sidewinder.
  14. There's a resturant in Ceasar's Palace where you can order a four pound lobster. I can't remember the name of the resturant, but believe it's still there. I ordered one. The claws were as big as my fist, and I have a hard time finding gloves that fit. Don't remember much after that. Lots of good wine and good Scotch. Wasn't driving. The good part. The company paid the bill.
  15. When my son was five I bought him a Zebco Spin Cast and an Eagle Claw rod. No big loss if dropped over the side and real easy to use. Advanced to a better Shakespear spincast on the same rod. He's forty-two now and has my old Montauk and Mitchel reels.
