2009 Boating / Fishing goals

Recommended Posts

I simply got burned out on boating and fishing last year...not sure how that happens. But I get a break from school this summer and I already have a list of things I want to accomplish. At least a 25+ lb King Mack, a citation Spanish, flounder, & dolphin are on my list of things to catch. Also, I'd like to try my luck with grouper this year as well. With gas being somewhat affordable, I hope these things can get accomplished!

How about you guys n gals? What are some of the things you look forward to accomplish this year?

I just picked up a little back water skiff as my youngest son, age 12, wants to learn how to fish for specs and reds. I am a pretty good offshore guy with a good track record of putting meat in the box, but I don't know squat about inshore. We had a guide over the holidays, but the water was cold and did not scratch, but at least I picked up some pointers. Looking forward to learning something very new this spring while still going offshore for some yellow bellies.

Book Rickey Kellum....that really jump started my inshore catching. You can ask him to fish down your way at Topsail or New River area is his specialty.

Thanks, will look him up. We went out with Eddie Stuart of Sandpiper Charters. Knowledgeable guide, interesting locations that I could not get to without a skiff, so when the water warms above 50 we will try some of the spots and make decisions from there.

My goals are the same as every other year. I will continue to pursue the three B's. Boats, beer and boobs. I might fish a little too.
