  1. Been a while since I posted over here. Guess I should put up a picture of the current boat.
  2. Sorry for the crappy pictures but it is the best I can do with a camera phone at 9:00 pm. We were as close as they would let us get to the barges.
  3. Decided that I would polish up the boat before the sun took it's toll. Finesse-it, some machine polish and two coats of wax later it passed the bud light test.
  4. Didn't meant to quote Ludi in my reply. Hope they are having a great cruise. Mike, do you have any pictures of a subwoofer install in a 26SS?
  5. Thank you Wiley and Ludicrous. Fishing trip and/or refreshing beverages are on me if either of you want to venture up to the Nature Coast.
  6. Proline? Who would want to own one of those?
  7. Ooooo...............a big catamaran, I did not think of that.
  8. Not sure if I want to hang twins or trips. Cool thing is the modular design eliminates twofootitis. If you want bigger just add in a section.
  9. bullion cubes. It's too dark for the kids to see and they think they are caramels.
  10. Isn't 90 a tad fast for grouper trolling?
  11. I've heard the bombers go deeper than the stretches. One of my friends gave me two of his plugs and he uses a rapala with a 10 ounce trolling weight ahead of the leader. I also have a couple of stretch 25's. I've never trolled for grouper before so it will be a learning curve. Figure I better catch some of the endangered species before they close them down next year.
  12. How deep? My next couple of weekends are full up with kid stuff but come first of Nov. it's daddy time. Plan on starting in 30 feet and working my way out.
  13. Forgot the smiley face at the end of my post. I'm sure it runs great and it looks even better. Not sure that I would want to throw a bloody fish in it but I'm sure the Nortech folks would be happy to build one more "fishy" if that is what the customer wanted.
  14. I don't know about the biggest or fastest part but we do have lots of fun on her.
  15. Hey Wiley, Any chance of you installing the tapatalk plug in on the site? Makes it a lot easier for those of us with smart phones to play here.
  16. Last Saturday. I was running in from the Gulf with 100 other boats out enjoying the holiday weekend. Got a little impatient passing a pontoon (last red before Hell's gate) and it put me on a bad line on a turn in the river. Made a bad decision and came off the throttles a little. When I did it put me in a bow steer situation and I almost spun out in the middle of the channel with lots of boats around me. I have no idea how I saved it but we did not spin or worse. My wife was thrown off the leaning post into the gunnel hard. She was laying on the floor not moving or speaking for quite a while and I could not go to her as I had to keep the boat in the channel and out of other boats ways. It was the most helpless feeling I have ever experienced. When she got up she called me lots of things I can't repeat here. Thank God she was not thrown over. Boat went back on the trailer. Now I remember why I don't go out on holiday weekends.
  17. Nice catch! I wish my C120 showed the bottom like your Furuno. BTW I can't quite make out the lat and lon numbers. Need a clearer shot.
  18. Good one and I saw lots of it on Memorial day. Overloaded boat and kids with no life jackets. LEO's watched them go by and stopped the nice fishing boat right behind them for a safety check.
  19. Mine: People that think a busy channel is the perfect place to pull their kids on a tube.
  20. Thanks, I noticed that on Evinrudes test report for the 26SS with 150 Etecs that they were mounted in hole number two. Not sure how close the Opti and Etec are size wise but I get better speed and fuel numbers. I'm getting a occasional TPI error at idle so while it is in the shop I'll have them moved up. Can't hurt to try.
  21. Now for another question. Why are my engines mounted all the way down? Last weekend the gulf was so smooth you could water ski out 50 miles. First time I have had the chance to open the boat up and let her run. Ran her up to 4000 rpm's and started trimming out. Watched the speed and fuel flow and it did not change. Looked out back and the cav plates were buried. Looks like I could move the engines up two holes with no problems. Boat jumps on plane, sips fuel and I have no performance complaints but if it would run better...............
