myself, i decided to stay with Furuno when upgrading the plotter since the existing stuff was already Furuno.

Aside from that factor of aesthetics, the NN3D product is performing very well for me and has been pretty easy to learn.

A very important factor is also service. Furuno service is truly awesome and second to none IMO. My experience with Raymarine is a happy one too, but feel Furuno service is a bit better. Furuno unfortunately is on the higher end in price. Avoid Navico stuff as their service is nearly non-existent (simrad, Lowrance, northstar, navman, eagle).
