Garmin Radar Dome

Doing some reseach on adding a Garmin Dome on my 07 22foot CC Robalo with T-Top.. Trying to find out if radar cable comes in different lenths or can i shorten. Dont want or have space for alot of extra cable to be coiled.

The radar uses a garmin network cable ( same cable as the sounder, gps and network box) and a separate power cable. The power cable can be cut to any length and the network cables start at 6'.

The garmin network cables can also be shortened. They are Cat 5 computer network cables. All you need to shorten them is a RJ45 crimper that you can but at any Lowes or Home Depot. The radar comes with a spare cable end but you can also buy them from Garmin.

I never realized they were common computer cables. I had to replace one that got coroaded. Garmin was gracious enough to sell

me a 6 foot replacement for $39. I think I'll go up to office depot and get a spare one to carry on the boat.
