Leaking fish boxes - help

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I may need to see if the pump is clogged. But, when I turn the pump on it drains fine. Oh well, working on the boat is better than in the yard!

Just got back from a cruise around Deer Island and a stop at a poolside bar at one of the local casinos. Life is good!

It may be that the other one should not leak when the macerator is not turned on. If it has a rubber impeller , check to see if it's still intact and not worn and wear plate is not scored.

That could be...I'll have to check it out. The problem I'm having is that when the boat is sitting on the trailer one fish box will hold water after a rain and the other doesn't. I'd like to find a way to make them watertight in the sense that rainwater will not accumulate.

Normally neither box should drain out until you turn on your macerator pumps. That is the way they are designed at least on most boats. Your fishbox that is draining out without turning on the pump is the problem. As far as making the fishboxes weatherproof you will need to replace or add a good rubber seal around the box.
