  1. The paramount will handle rough seas better than the Albury. The Albury is a great boat but more of a flat bottom. I imagine that top speed will be around 30mph which is all you need. If youre not familiar with the waters thats plenty fast. Be sure to purchase some local charts that will help you navigate the waters. You will find good snapper/grouper fishing in most of the channels leading out to the Atlantic. Get some chum and anchor up for bottom fishing or purchase a couple of Magnum 30 big lip plugs and drag them through the channels. These plugs work well. Good luck.
  2. That is one ugly boat. What happened to the great lines of Bertram. Is this the new European look?
  3. I put 5-6 small chlorine tablets in my ac strainer once a month. Also flush system with muratic acid at least once a year. Now I am putting in the sea strainer some plumbing copper fittings to see if this helps reduce barnacle growth. Just an experiment although copper is an effective ingredient in bottom paint.
  4. Nice boat if you get one get the newer model with twin350s instead of trip 250's. They handle better. Ride bow high even when trimmed down. Otherwise great boat.
  5. Normally neither box should drain out until you turn on your macerator pumps. That is the way they are designed at least on most boats. Your fishbox that is draining out without turning on the pump is the problem. As far as making the fishboxes weatherproof you will need to replace or add a good rubber seal around the box.
  6. I cannot get my Clarion power button to function. It must be dead because when I reset the system it still just says push power button. Anyone have one of these older units that works they want to sale. Or another newer unit. Does the CMD4 or 5 fit in the same size cutout?
  7. Haven't seen a post on this subject in awhile. Enjoy hearing of the different ways people tune their radar to locate birds. I have my way but would like to hear some different thoughts.
  8. We are headed down by boat from New Smynra Beach to Stuart on the 20th and will be at Pirates Cove for the night. Will be leaving for OBB the morning of the 21st. I'm towing a 15 boston whaler.
  9. Jack's Boat I presume. Seen it a few times at Chub.
  10. Well I'm headed to Bahama Bay on the 20th for a day or two and then to GTC. Name of the boat is CSkipR. 43 Cabo. Call me if you head that way. I'm leaving from Stuart.
  11. On my previous boat with a 3 ft draft I was able to leave Bahama Bay and follow the short channel headed to Green Turtle. My new boat has a 4'5" draft and I have some concerns with this channel. It was two years the last time I made this trip. I dont want to damage props at the beginning of my vacation. Can anyone provide me current information or should I run North and then cut over. Thanks
  12. Bill, When are you going over? I'm headed over to BB on Apr 20th for a couple of days and then to Green Turtle for a couple of months. CSkipR

  14. I have 6 Optima D31 batteries that are 4 years old and going strong. At least I hope so.
