Tree cutting

Recommended Posts

Back your pickup truck up to the tree and put a ladder up there and tie off your rope as high as you can. Should be high enough.

As someone else said, you aren't really pulling the tree down, just need a little tug -- the main job is accomplished at the butt of the tree.

Good luck!

You could probably even gain a few more feet if you put a sawhorse in the bed of the pickup and put the ladder on top of the sawhorse. :2261_high:

I shoulda known that was coming.

OK, you back yard engineers, just put the ladder down on that crawdad hole and use a couple of bricks to level it up. You'll be fine. :1143_neener_neener_neener:

Thanks to all

The sinker/fishing line worked great. I tried the washer method but didn't have any washers so tried some nuts. Well I got my nuts caught-up in the trees and they never came back. Now I now why youall specified washers. I figured hey these big nuts are even heavier so why not....

The Sinker also was very aerodynamic and came right down with the line.

Yep, you don't wanna get your nuts caught up in those trees - especially with the squirrells I have.

Thanks to all - now if I can figure how to post apic..or do I have to pay for this feature?
