  1. It does look better - less cluttered - I usually don't like most upgrades as it usually just means the smaller print but this is good....
  2. Actually I think most all the freight ships that go through there are made specifically for the canal and they have just a few inches on a side!!!
  3. Yea nothing is simple anymore - as billinstuart says some America stuff may be anywhere North or maybe even South America - gotta look for that USA or Canada emblem Thanks
  4. the definitive answer! Here we are a boating forum and this doesn't come up till the umteenth reply....
  5. Is this some sorta mine sweeper and there is somehting in the vehicle taht activates the bomb before the truck goes over , or was this some sorta freak occurrance. ?

  7. Got a Garmin car gps Nuvi 455 or something - the most "user friendly" electronic gizmo-thing I ever had Also got a Wii - did not expect that but the bowling is so realistic and great for me with my questionable back and knee. Most other was practical stuff - clothing fireplace stuff
  8. Interesting topic and near to my heart. Google USA products when you shop if this is important to you as it is to me. A few that come to mind now are Most Sears Craftsman tools/machines Chevrolet and GMC Trucks The Chevrolet Impala SS Ballantine Ale 993 New Balance running shoes - great if you are just plain overweight or have to stand at work USA Beef Carhart Products I have been buying American made clothing over the internet - many brands I never heard of for years and the prices are not much higher than the foreign stuff and its very good quality overall
  9. Higganum / Chester My boat is a fish repellant - you see it might as well try somewhere else.... Good for and mostly I'd insert a picture but have no idea how - seems to be asking for an address instead of browsing my computer...oh well - took me years to learn THT - maybe by 2020 I can learn this site.....
  10. I haven't found too many I don't like. But have to stick with Becks or Heineken if I want to have more than one and not feel like total crap the next day. In a can on the boat Piels or Ballantine Ale seem to work OK also.
  11. That's a much needed improvement. About time they relate it to the tuition costs. I think we got a max of 400 per month in school full time for a max of 19 months.
  12. Welcome My Gal I guess most of us came from over there...... Dockside Chat is pretty quiet these days...
  13. Thanks I do appreciate that but I am a bit flush with (4) boats right now. My 28 Carver will spend its 2nd season in dry dock. I have used the Wellcraft only once so far. I would love a new Pro-line which may be affordable but I know I wouldn't wouldn't be able to afford the divorce. I have the B disease - I get attached to the damn things - I am not sure I have ever seen either a cold Beer, a tall slender Brunette under 40, or a fiberglass outboard Boat that I didn't want to have.
  14. 15 ft. MFG w/60hp Johnson. Approx.1972 vintage I think.
  15. How do I post pics after I click on the album tab I get is... "Sorry, the board administrator has not enabled your permissions for this part of the control panel." Do I have to join a club? If so how? Also all my topic subscriptions seem to have ended. And I get error messages for almost everything I try to do - even in the help and how to use the forum page. Have I been blackballed or erased? Is it my deoderant? My speling? My drinking?
  16. Thanks to all The sinker/fishing line worked great. I tried the washer method but didn't have any washers so tried some nuts. Well I got my nuts caught-up in the trees and they never came back. Now I now why youall specified washers. I figured hey these big nuts are even heavier so why not.... The Sinker also was very aerodynamic and came right down with the line. Yep, you don't wanna get your nuts caught up in those trees - especially with the squirrells I have. Thanks to all - now if I can figure how to post apic..or do I have to pay for this feature?
  17. Thanks for all the advice - we were able to determine the height of the last trees we cut down ahead of time knowing we had the line more than half way up and knew the length of the rope (hypotenuse) and how far we were from the tree (one leg). So the old pythagoreum theorum actually worked perfectly. All the trees are approx that same height or smaller so we won't be pulling anything on the truck. Powers lines on my propery are all buried. My neighbor actually is a line-man (well a splicer) - I'll ask about the "hot" stick. But, I would have thought if he had acess he would have brought it over....My son the pitcher has a stronger and more accurate arm and he will have the job today.....Got all the old branches hauled into the woods and cut up the trees yesterday. Rain today may dampen the plans as my truck will get no traction on my wet lawn. Thanks again - I now ned to find how to attach a picture with theis new hi tech user friendly bright blue web-site
  18. See - I have NO branches within throwing distance - well maybe if I use fishing line or a very light string - hmmmmmnnnn
  19. I have been clearing an area for another shed. Most trees are maybe 40 -50 ft and maybe 10-12 inch dia. Been throwing a rope up to the highest branch then wrapping around the tree, cut a little more than half way on the side I want it to fall and pull down with truck. Now the deeper trees have no lower branches that I can throw anything around - I need to be pretty accurate to avoid the pool and another shed. Any ideas on how to get a rope up there? I am trying to post a photo - under "insert image" its asking for an address. How can I get to ask me to browse my computer so I can get a pic from there?
  20. Thanks Mike - Wow this is god to hear from a member. I am hoping you can give the guy the REELBOATING discount!!!
  21. I had a Hydrasport 2800 and moved down to a Wellcraft 240 coastal. The Wellcraft is a true walk around . Safer to walk around and deep recess. Many boats are more the express type as said above - check that out. I am not familiar with those boats but the layout and fishability varies greatly in "walk-arounds" so check that out closely. The "Express" type like the Hydrasport does give you more cabin room. Have fun shopping. I would not discount Grady just because of the weight difference. That is good in many conditions. I can't imagine the fuel burn can be much difference. The price would keep me away but not the layout or weight or anything else.
  22. I am thinking what the heck is so extreme about a mear 4 inches then I saw the picture Hope it works as planned!
  23. Makes sense to me. I can now see how that could happen too! We mostly get the traditional stuff over water , but I have seen this other stuff - especially in the winter with a snow cover and sudden warm air...... Thanks - never too old to learn!
  24. Hmmmm Never heard of fog caused that way? Usually Evaporation from the surface of the warm water easily saturates the cold air, causing fog. Then again I am usually the one who misses the joke or satire....or.. Maybe there are different rules of physics in the Big Easy
  25. Wife's car runs great on it.
