Cool photos. I was in one of those subs on a tour a long time ago. They look huge from the outside but inside its very cramped. I wouldn't want to spend more than a few days on one much less 6 months.

my cuz was exec of one of the attack boats. When it called on Port Everglades we were invited to tour the boat and visit the wardroom. He broke out the attack periscope. The tip was the size of a matchbox and he trained it on the pier 66 motel. It was like being a peeing tom right outside the window....6 stories up.

Actually that is one of the smaller attack subs. The missile subs are almost twice that long - and much wider.

Nice Pics... I dont think I could handle being on one of those things.. I had an MRI of my neck done a while back and was like being shoved in a 55 gallon drum head first, I could not do it. Closed spaces and me dont mix.

I snapped this photo a couple of years ago on an early sword run about 15 miles off FLL. Anybody know what type this one is? I was pretty much out of sight of land and feeling pretty inferior to this guy. I chose not to approach . . .
