  1. Not to be a smartass but it will be easier to find a 52 x 7 piece, cut in half, run through jointer and edge glue. Cheaper too. The plywood may work for you depending on how you choose to treat the edges.
  2. If anyone in NYC or on Long Island would like a VSC please PM me and I'll make arrangements with/for you.
  3. EPIRB, 6 man raft, ditch bag with handheld VHF and GPS, first aid kit, meds, water, line, etc.
  4. My wife and I have both taken many US Power Squadron courses and now hold the rank of JN or Junior Navigator. After attainingg that I went on to get my USCG OUPV & Master - my USPS courses made passing the five USCG tests a breeze. They were no where near as tough as the USPS JN test. I very much believe in the continuing education, training and comradery the USPS offers its members. Did you get your vessel safety check?
  5. Very Western Sound Any of you NYers need a vessel safety check?
  6. I tried adding a video card (from Jim at BOE) to my radar display and no matter what I tried I could not get it to work. Furuno customer service was terrific in walking me through the installation process, calling me long distance at a time I would be on my boat and trouble shooting the card. Now we watch DVDs and TV on my NavNet 1 display. I have also used their knowledge base and have posted questions there that received prompt, accurate responses. Next system is definitely Furuno, from Jim.
