  1. no doubt - you have more than enough truck. Just make sure your trailer is as road ready as you think it is, and carry spare trailer parts like maybe a spare hub with bearings and all greased up up ready for a quick swap if you have a roadside problem, and of course spare tires.
  2. Wiley, it was nice meeting you and IG at the show. Maybe at the Ft Lauderdale show we can catch up again. vac
  3. http://www.barometerbob.com for those going to the Abacos
  4. cracker, I'm taking the same basic trip in my 236 Sailfish w/F225 a couple weeks earlier at the end of June. I ball parked it one day at approx 200 miles each way, and I figure that it will take me about 9 hours to get there including stopping for Customs and refuel if mother nature cooperates. I have a friend going either the same day or a couple days ahead in his 25' Century w/F300 Suzi and he has made the trip every year for last 14 or so, and said it takes him about that 9 hours I guestimated. I think there will be lots of boats in the middle of summer making the crossings so it won't feel so lonely out there. Just pick the day to cross so it's not too rough. Hey look at it this way, when you go fish out of St. Aug, and your offshore 50 miles trolling for dolphin, your more than halfway across to the Islands if you were doing it out of south FL. vac
  5. Will do. If our comppany boats go there this year, I'll pm you the info on them. vac
  6. Island Girl, if everything goes as planned, I'll be around the corner from Boat Harbour at Lubbers Quarters at the end of June with some friends that have a place there. I'm hoping mother nature is kind enough to let me take my own boat across. Also always a possibility my boss will have a couple of their "small" boats at your marina there as they have in years past. vac
  7. so what model pontoon should I get if I want to be able to go 30kts in 5' seas when running to the edge of the gulfstream, and would a yamarado be faster than a opti-tec?
  8. thanks for my invite this morning - I too look forward to another good site here!
