  1. Just a quick comment. I had an issue with a Sea Star system and the above mentioned Marc who is a Sea Star tech stayed with me for nearly a week as I fumbled through the fix. Could not have asked for more.
  2. And when they really "set up" and start to attract fish, the commercial potters will arrive and cover up the reef to the point that it is unusable. The artificial reefs off of Delaware were paid for by rec fisherman and are routinely cleaned out by the potters. Delaware (unlike NJ) is doing nothing about it.
  3. I've got that same engine. Except I've got the pull start version.
  4. We just bought a used boat but it is a 2008 with df 200 Suzukis. The props on them are much larger than I would have expected and was told the same thing. They are very powerful and the boat scoots so I would say that you got the straight poop.
  5. Had to clean our VST recently (with a wrench turner friend, but I watched pretty well) so I know what you mean. The motor is so new it seems funny that you could have accumulated much of anything yet, unless...........the boat/gas tank/ fuel lines are older. What clogged the filters at 40hrs? If it were me, I'd take a sample of the crap you are finding to a mechanic that you trust. Chances are that he will have seen it before and have an answer for you. Please let me (us) know what the answer is. good luck, Granpa
  6. You got it. Secure to hardtop only for fishing, not running. The 1000 is so light that it is not an issue. No problems, mate.
  7. Wow! I didn't know that you could fish from a pizza oven. This is great news although my cardiologist won't approve.
  8. I've been using one for the last year and a half. Luckily, I haven't needed it but on several occasions I've jumped off the boat to gas up and come back to hear the alarm sounding and the kill switch activated. It works as advertised. I solo a lot and it is a necessity in my opinion.
