  1. Do your best to align the decal or letter parallel with another part on the boat. Measure down and use a pencil line that you will rub off later. The soapy water, in a spray bottle will not affect the line. Lots of water and work bubbles from the inside out! Good luck
  2. Not me you won't !! I really like the tone and demeanor of this forum. These forums are new to me...I only came on board a year ago to another forum. I have always been turned off by negative, condescending people. And thank you, Wiley, for not allowing them to abuse this forum. For that, you will always have my support and appreciation!!
  3. I too had to put on new tires this past year. I had trailmasters on the trailer and didn't like the wear pattern. There was a two year old denman as a spare. My local Tires Plus dealer found my size 215-75 r14 and had it for me that same day. The 215 is a harder size to find in a 14" tire. Call ahead!
  4. Happy Birthday and best of wishes to all the celebrants!!
  5. I have an Eagle fishelite 500c that I have had for about a year, made by Lowrance and no problems yet. I got it off ebay nib but about a year old at the time i bought it. Paid $360 and is both a gps and fishfinder. The transducer is mounted with 5200 to the bottom of the hull and works well.
  6. Holey moley......fast for me too.......thanks, firefox!!
  7. No, that pad and buffer is for the wax. I use a 10" random orbital with a big foam pad and a terry cloth cover for the compounding. I like the big foam pad because it flexes down into areas like semi-recessed cleats, and at the bottom of splash wells. So it takes two sizes. Also, i try and keep a little water on the terry pad that I use with the RO.
  8. Shimano and Fin nor for me as well. Have been hearing of some problems with the bail post breaking on the newer Penn ssg reels. Also, the shimano baitrunner has been one of the better reels I have ever owned!!
  9. I was in the middle of a detail when my old craftsman 8" orbital took a dive. I picked up a Hrb. frt Chicago 10" random Orb....I already had a 7" polisher that has worked well for the past two years. I use 3m color glass restore, squirt it on my 10" terry pad to apply the compound. I follow that up with my polisher with a nice furry wool pad and use 3m finesse it final finish.. Here's the 7" and pad, the 10" didn't load
  10. Yeah, Bob...I thought I could see that tree swayin from my place!!
  11. Thanks, rrrwel. Good info. I am currently detailing a 20' ProLine using all 3m product. So far looks good, but lots of work. Am using an orbital to apply and a big PC to shine it all. Will have to check out the other products mentioned....
  12. Very limited on storage on this boat...the smaller ACR looks good however. It will fit in the console and should also retrieve quick and easily. Those two things are important!
  13. What..??? THAT 29..??? Where's the boat? Thought we hat a peek at a sweet 'Fin or Contender.... Welcome..enjoyed your posts from THaT other place!!
  14. As I read it in this mornings Tampa Tribune, the owner of the Everglades relied upon cell phones and did not have a working vhf radio on his boat. Also, by the time they retrieved the flares, they were wet and not functioning. Both of these facts were reported via interviews with the survivor. My wife and I run out 32 miles in a 20'KW to get to one really good spot west of Bayport. I am paranoid about maintaining radio contact with my BoatUS tow service. We also have and epirb and would like to acquire a small inflatable. Also, we chart weather for a day or so before we launch. Especially monitor the weather buoys. I hope to be able to always maintain my healthy fear of the sea and its potential for doom....
  15. Lookin great, King...how about marking the lamps above the switches?? Keep the pics coming. This is gonna be one sweet little Trophy. How about some new power?? Or did I miss that??
  16. Only had this one for a month! 2002 KeyWest 2300 WA twin F115's
  17. Well, lets see if we can get Lucy to co-operate!!
  18. Dude...sounds serious. That's almost as bad as winterizing a boat!! Not something I am personally familiar with tho...hope for a speedy recovery!!
  19. My name is Rick. Triumphrick on the forums, cuz of the old Brit cars. They take a back seat to the boats and fishing nowadays, but still like to hang in the garage with the guys and do a little autocrossing from time to time. We own a 20' KeyWest DC with a 150 Yamaha. Also own a '86 Blue Fin tinny with a 50 Evinrude. You won't see me in the shouting matches between the Yamadogs and the E-tec guys. Actually, don't expect to see any of that on this forum. I read Wileys guidelines and am all ready for some nice civilized chat. Sometimes we just have to agree to disagree without starting a war over something so trivial. I have lived and been fishing in Florida since 1955. I am 61, retired, and can't get enough of boats, fishing, cruising, boat shows, etc. One of my hobbies is rod and reel repair and custom rods. I was glad to see this site pop up!!
  20. :P Yeah, that's a start! So the wife got really turned on last year...wait that didn't sound right!! Umm, really enjoyed our offshore trips and bringing some meat over the side. We are trying for some lightweight flats fishing, macks, big trout, etc. Would like to pick up on some kingfish tips and see how we do. Thank you Santa....
  21. How about NEVER... will never work for you too??? :1143_neener_neener_neener: Would love to make the trek to the other coast...get us out of the area for a weekend. Will see if things can come together. Our last show was at Tropicana in St. Pete..not much there. Left me wanting!
  22. Hmmmm....methinks the puter screen might need to be covered!!
