  1. I have the Costa Pescador, Triple Tail and Wave Killer. They are all several years old and have held up really good. The frames on the Wave Killer and Triple Tail are really tough. I did have the Pescador break on the bridge of the nose. It seems that is a weak spot in the design. Costa replaced them with no questions. Last week I bought a pair of Ocean Waves Atlantic Beach 2 and have been really pleased with them. In a side x side comparison, I feel that the lenses in the OW's are better. They seem to have a little more sharpness. However, I don't feel that the frames are as well made as my Wave Killers or Triple Tails. I guess time will tell. Yes I have a sunglass problem.
  2. Had a great day on Sunday fishing out of Harkers Island. Ran up to 315 and got into some grey trout pretty good. Most fish in the 18-20 inch range. Guy in the boat beside me caught one that had to be 6-7 lbs. Also saw a few small flounder and two 5 pounders. Fished with my son with a ultra light with a speck rig when my wife says wow look over here there is a shark swimming along beside the boat. Casually walked over to look and there was a 30 lb cobia swimming along beside the boat as we drifted. Of course all my stuff was stowed away. By the time I got a rod out he was long gone. It was still fun catching blues on a light weight rod with 8lbs test with a six year old. On the way back in saw a sweet new (no numbers) green Southport anchored at the light house. Real nice, Real nice. J
  3. We had one last year. The first time we put it on was on a down rigger out at the big ten/little ten. Within minutes ziiiiiiiiiiing pow! Never saw what it was but it was big. J.
  4. You Carolina folks really know how to throw a party. Jim Beam for a trip to the elite eight? Man, if the Wolfpack ever makes it to the eight I am gonna invite all of yall over for a party and we ain't drinkin Beam. J.
  5. Tried my gin with a little of the Sierra Mist with cranberry tonight. MMM, went down real smooth. I think its time for another. \\J.
  6. Well the computer reads 5:00 on Friday evening and someone wrote forget the beer where is the whiskey. So what's in your glass this fine rainy Friday evening? Mine is getting ready to have a little Bombay Saphire. I think the better half is pouring a Kahlua and half/half and she wonders why she can't lose any weight. J.
  7. If you are looking at pulling the shallower stretches, I would get yozuri DD crystal minnows instead. These lures are great. You can pretty much catch anything that swims on one. I don't use wire with mine. I crimp a flouro leader with a loop in the end to the lure. This doesn't put any pressure on the bait and swims true. J.
  8. Thanks for the link. I got everything right except for switching out the seals on the plugs. Should I go back and switch them out? I went back and looked at the quart of oil and it reads Yamah gear oil. It says it is for all Yamaha outboard lower units and outdrives. J.
  9. I was changing out the lower unit oil today and was wondering if you can overfill it when pumping in the oil. Also, the Yamaha lower unit lube I bought was the color of oil. The grease that came out was a greenish color. Is this right? J.
  10. I was out drowning some worms with my kid the other day and a God came down to the water and gave me a vision of the new web page. Not really. He told me to stop drinking and cheating on my wife. Wiley sent me an email abou the forum. J.
  11. The Wilson Co. CCA banquet is on April 2. If any of you guys are interested in buying tickets, let me know. It will be a great time with an excellent seafood buffet and an open bar. J.
  12. I was out in the yard today tinkering on the boat thinking that this is the best time of the year. I haven't broke anything on the boat yet. In a few weeks the rocks will be running in the Roanoke. The weather is getting warmer by the day and my mind is full of great expectations for this fishing season. Man, I can't wait. J.
  13. Hey, whats up guys. I got the email and came on over and registered. I was racinmullet on the other forum but never really liked the name so I changed it here. From here on out, I will be known as the ancient fish killer name Finraiser. J.
