  1. I had a lady come in one day and ask for me. She went on to tell me that my son was running around with her daughter, to which I assured her he was. She then went on to warn me to keep him away from her, that she was dangerous and not mentally sound. That my son was too nice for her. When she finally left I was thinking that mental problem ran in the family, except her daughter seemed way better balanced than mom. She wasn't scary but she was certainly worrisome. Your situation though could become dangerous. This guy is out for blood and thinks it should be yours. The fact that he left is encouraging but if he somehow becomes more convinced that you are the guy, who knows. A restraining order would show him that you've gone to the authorities and if he's reasonable at all he should be a bad memory. And I think he should seriously consider dumping that wife.
  2. Coincidentally when I was a much younger fellow my brother and I would go to a pool room called Tucker's Billiard Academy. As far as pool rooms went in those days it was a pretty nice place with real tables, no quarter stuff. My brother went on to become one of the best players I've ever seen. I, on the other hand, did not. I still enjoy the game and have my own nice table. I'm building a room over the garage pool room to put the table in and hope to replicate some of the old time pool rooms with the decor. Maybe one day I'll look into a custom cue, but I doubt it will help me play better. In my spare time I do a variety of things from playing with the grand kids to photography, even a bit of free lance writing now and then. Most of my time is spent in building that new house though so I can find a home for that pool table.
  3. Your dealer is correct, they do have less negative trim than other brands. The angle of the transom comes into play, but more so with the Yamaha. If you are having an issue the most effective and least expensive approach is the transom wedge solution. With the wedges the trim tabs can then be used to level the load, and then if needed to raise the stern even more. A four blade prop may help but it sure does cost more than those wedges.
  4. Rich, careful with that saw buddy. I bought one a few years ago and now my wife expects me to actually use it. Whatever you do, don't let her get you a compound miter saw. Those things can kill you with work. I'm heading out now on a beautiful day to hang siding on the second story. How's that for a relaxing Sunday?
  5. I found a post from back in 2000. I know that wasn't the first but it's the oldest I could find. I did find in that search that there are a bunch of people out there with the same real name as me. Not many Boatdoods though.
  6. The last time I needed to know I didn't have an angle finder, but I did have a piece of cardboard so I traced the bottom angle to the cardboard, then used a builder's square I had in my truck toolbox. I can go the trig route but when I took math courses in college we used a slide rule. I might need a refresher course on that baby.
  7. Yeah, I checked it out. I can't register on that site though. For some reason it says my e-mail doesn't have a valid MX record. Some kind of glitch in their system. I wanted to poke fun at you and Jessie for going through all that trig to figure out a dead-rise angle.
  8. It's good to see you too Bob. I hear you're going back to work. Good for you. I hope things keep getting better. Speaking of Jessie, he finally got his boat back in the water. He sent me pictures of the hot girls. Seems he could have invited me instead. Must be afraid of the competition.
  9. I usually finish with what I started with. Have you ever been to a bar that ran out of your stuff? Happened to me and a buddy of mine once in Owasso Michigan. The bartender ran out of Crown Royal. We gave her so much grief she ran next door and borrowed another bottle. There's just not much to do in Owasso.
  10. I guess I would drive that inspector crazy. I have extra bridging in the shower and toilet for hand rails, and all over the other rooms for hanging stuff on the walls, like that big ole TV I plan to get. Fortunately the only inspector I contend with is the county code inspector who seems to be a pretty decent guy, and I think he knows what he's doing. I'm building my own house and my neighbors seem to think I'm crazy. They may be right but they also tend to give me some pretty wild advice. I called the inspector once and told him my friends were driving me nuts with well intentioned advice. He said I could call him anytime I needed to clear things up.
