  1. Have you thought of having a Alloy skin added ?
  2. Capt. George, I hope you catch some Cod, because I know you will post some pictures of them .
  3. Man , this is cool having a Gulf Coast foru.............Oh , wait , no never mind , sorry.
  4. You answered your own question , SEA TRIAL , that's the best way to find out what you want to know as all makes and models will ride different due to material, DR, power/weight, where the console is located and more. I am not a speed demon and like the 18* DR on my pacific 23, very stable boat.
  5. Oneil, you beat me to it, The water trick and it works VERY well. I don't like hitting a dog with my hand , a rolled up paper works better [ They remember the paper not your hand ] . Also you can try her old dog pooky in the hole .
  6. If your friend wants to wire it that way let him do it , that way when he has to buy alts and Batts it aint your fault.
  7. I would go Furuno all the way and not look back , why learn to use two different systems . I have the GP7000F and it took my BIL to help me figure it out , now its a piece of cake .
  8. I got WOOD ...... I am very HAPPY she takes her boat maintenance seriously .
  9. Do not mix batteries and yes it sucks to replace both of them . You want matched batteries and keep them maintained the same . A older battery [ Read , weaker ] can bring down a good battery real quick and cause them both to fail AGAIN when use together .
  10. Rival, I like your idea , keep them separate.
  11. Use one Alt. and carry the other for a spare. As said above ^^^^ a bank of batteries is considered one battery .
  12. 5/16" would be good and the minimum is 1/3 the length of the boat, the lenght of the boat would be great. Just remember YOU have to pull it up.
  13. Jay are there any of those ALLOY PT Boats left around ?
  14. Anything that can get you in contact with someone is a GOOD thing but my 1st line of defense is my EPIRB. The spot can also be used anywhere , Hiking , Car travel , your Kids traveling , Hide it in the wife's car to see where she goofs off all day [ LOL ] and more. The SPOT is a tool .
  15. Ralph , your missing something there Dude. Sorry bud, it just took awhile to load . I take back all I said and more.
  16. Port-O-John...................Outstanding in the Field Out house humor , lets here it . Don't ever drop a rock down the vent pipe when your buddy is in one , Doug said that blue stuff in there BURNS.
  17. I nominate Ralph to MODERATE the new sandbar .
  18. Gringo......Rag bagger.....That just don't sound right. Gringo ....Has Twin outboards ......Now that sounds cool. Gringo hit a reef in his Alloy boat and spilled his drink but the boat is OK , that sounds cool. BUT, gringo is going sailing......................... Really , do what ya gotta do Brother we'll still respect ya in the morning.
  19. They be here already . Has anyone said use the search feature of check the Members list...............I think I'm the 1st Their here .
  20. One of the biggest problems we have with ANY tire is improper inflation , get and USE a good air gauge.
