  1. Anyone familiar with the late model Baja's? I know it was a Brunswick product then but I'm perfectly happy with my current Brunswick boat. Layout looks perfect for what I do (25% fish 75% family cruising) Performance looks good with the 250 Vrod. They are asking 40K which I think is high for these times. I'm waiting on more info on what electronics are on the boat.
  2. Very nice. I've made a lot of parts in my VTC's but i never though of custom trim tabs. Next time one of my machines is empty I may have to play. What machine and cad/cam program are you using? I have Mazak VTC 300's and SolidWorks/CAMworks.
  3. I will be bringing the boat over next weekend and I will be there pretty much every weekend for the summer. I'll fish when I can but cocktails at the springs are a sure thing.
  4. WooooHoooo...................I don't have to log in every time now.
  5. 2004 Trophy 2103. No real quirks to speak of. While it won't jump out of the hole she comes up on plane in a reasonable time. I have to run a bit of tab in the 25 zones if I'm loaded light but once I clear the channel she likes to stretch her legs and run. 4500-4700 seems to be the sweet spot.
  6. Yup, it's a Mercaha. I have one hanging from the back of my boat. Fires up at the touch of the key and purrs like a kitten. At idle you have to look at the pee steam to see if it is running.
  7. I just took the exam there and passed with a 96. The only thing missing was Sally Stuthers.
  8. Never had a class and I bought my first boat at age 12. My daughter is getting ready to turn 14 and since I have a pontoon boat on the lake I'm looking into taking a course with her. She has been driving me around since she was 9 but it can't do any harm for her to have a official course. Pretty soon she is going to want to take it out without dad on board
  9. Thanks, No dead short so I think I'm fine. I'll just make sure I do a radio check next time I make it over to the coast.
  10. I don't have any thing in mind. It is just not doing me any good sitting in my desk drawer so I thought I would pay if forward. I'm always needing another rod, reel, some tackle, secret grouper hole etc. What have you got laying around? Make sure that it will work with your GPS and PM me your address.
  11. Just put a new antenna on the boat (don't ask). Instead of a solder on end this one is the Shakespeare screw on type. Should I use a ohm meter to check to make sure the connection is good? Any idea of about what the reading should be? I used my handheld back up and can talk and receive but that was from a short distance.
  12. What is the advantage of these over the factory flip down rest? I just run my engine up, flip it down and let it down till it just takes the pressure off the hydraulics.
  13. Somehow ended up with two of these. This one is brand new and still sealed in the package. Date on the card is Sep. 11 2008. http://www.waypoints.com/cmap/clearwatertomobileL+.pdf I don't need it so make me a offer or trade or something.
  14. Sounds great. I have a similar chip but it is always nice to compare notes.
  15. Yup, I have one. ACR with the gps. About the only piece of safety gear that I don't have yet is a life raft. I'll get one when my son get's old enough to go offshore with me.
  16. My Mother and Mother in law are wanting to go fishing with the grand kids again. Last time I hauled the boat over to Crystal River but I'd rather stay at Homosassa. They don't want to go offshore and my boat won't run in the skinny stuff so I'm pretty much limited to running out to marker 10 or so and drifting around the flats. Anything biting out there right now?
  17. ...........I see trroosters avatar and then I ..................
  18. I'm looking at it as a opportunity. I'm going to fill the cooler up with beer, throw out some stretch 25's and make a weekend out of it. If I find some good rocks that's fine. Worst case scenario is I get to troll around and drink beer.
  19. Live in Central Florida but weekend in Homosassa during the summer or whenever I feel like it. As soon as my daughter gets done with Volleyball I'll be back over to try and find some good grouper rocks. I had a gps malfunction and lost my numbers. Next time I'll have a back up.
  20. The boat was named when I bought her. I was told it was bad luck to rename a boat so I just left it. My next boat will not have the name "Reel" in it though.
  21. I kept track last night and it worked out to 3 beers per mile.
  22. Thanks, I was set on buying the exact prop that I have now but I saw a post on THT where a guy with a Verado powered 2103 was running a enertia 17 so that got me thinking (and that is a dangerous thing). The enertia is more expensive but a few miles per hour and a better hole shot would be worth it.
