I havn't replaced my old frequency GPS with a new one. Been thinking about buying one, but also think about selling the boats and getting out of offshore fishing... I'm having a blast with my little boat and the family enjoys it more.

I use to wax the top of my surfboard for traction but never the bottom. In fact, I use to have a board that was rough sanded and that thing would fly! Too old to be doing that now...

Man that sux. Glad he made out okay though. Could have turned out not so good.

I usually do, although not on the boats I have now. I couldn't tell a difference in speed on my old boats that I waxed below th e water line. Hotspot is correct though it can slow you down. I raced sail boats for many years and we actually pulled the boat and rough sanded the bottom before cup races. The sanded bottom produced tiny air bubbles that aided in speed. This was very important since fractions of a second count when racing.

Glad to see this happening. I look forward to getting away from the negativity and bad advice found elsewhere. Looks like a good thing!
