  1. And my semi-displacement Seacat SL3 will do 45+ with 300 hp.
  2. We had a fantastic day here in the mountains. After early mass, my son and two 16 year old Japanese exchange students we kept for the weekend each caught Rainbow Trout in Clear Creek, which was raging from spring rains. I am sure those boys will carry the memory the rest of their lives of Easter in America!
  3. Fascinating and beautiful land you live in. Glad to have you here.
  4. Sounds like they are right and you need the 17s. You need to give some more info, but 4200 seems like it has got to be too low, even with a heavy load and not trimmed up.
  5. Never left the Dark Side, but did join the Fun Side, now checking out the.......Wiley what side is this anyway? Seems good so far. Course I'm obviously not top tier--I think I'm an '06 guy.
  6. Everybody here would like to know that site, but I doubt that it exists. A better bet might be a site listing non-ethanol marinas.
  7. Guy in the boat was lucky it wasn't a heaver.
  8. I aint goin' back out there man, it was six inch swells at half second intervals comin' round the point.
  9. "Repel boarders!" "Break out the Heavers!!" "Heavers Away Mateys!!!"
  10. Nothin much after diinner unless I'm planning on staying drunk all evening. I like to drink before dinner, have some wine with dinner, then maybe a liqueur, then cool it.
  11. Lotta epirbs. Or maybe those who don't have them don't want to admit it. Lets hear from the no epirbers
  12. I don't have one--yet. Have thought about it. Just curious--how many here have one? And how many don't?
  13. It is not QUITE as good as an epirb, but the ability to send your exact coordinates to up to 10 people with the message "I'm OK" or "I need help" , along with the ability to initiate contact with CG with your exact location I think is quite valuable. And for the price it is a no-brainer. Especially for the casual boater who is not going to buy an epirb.
  14. Neat product. The lack of mobility is probably the main reason for people not using their kill switch lanyard.
  15. I bought a Spot in January and tried it out in the Sanibel/Captiva area in February. I works great. It basically has three functions: --Check OK--Sends a signal to the satellite which in turn sends an email and/or a text message to up to 10 people you have programmed in on the website. The message includes your lat long. If you get the email, you can click on the lat long icon and it will pull up Google Maps and show your location. And it is very precise. When I tried it from home the first time, my buddy was able to tell that I was in the back yard as opposed to in front. --Tracking Mode--sends the same email/message as above every 10 minutes until deactivated. --911--Sends the same email/message as above with the message need immediate help. At this point, the company (a human being as I understand it) contacts the nearest emergency responder to your location (coast guard or land based rescue), gives them the message that you are in distress and at X location. Of course, I did not try this function as it is the same as a 911 call and can result in charges for false alarms. There was a thread on THaT other forum in which a CG air rescue pilot chimed in. He said the big difference with an epirb is that CG can directly tract a 406 epirb signal, whereas the spot gives only a location at a particular time. I'd say if those NFL guys had had a spot, it would have saved their lives.
  16. I think thats about right. La Gringa nailed it, but it aint always easy to pass up a little controversey if you have any opinions. Just don't let it get nasty.
  17. I just put on a set of 4 marathons in Feb. 1000 miles, so far so good. I did a lot of reading on THaT other forum. Each brand seemed to have its fans and detractors, but out of all of the posts, marathons seemed to get the most consistent positives. They cost a little more, but hell its only money.
  18. That thought crossed my mind too--like maybe there is more to it--but I give it the benefit of the doubt cause I have seen situations like this before. There are all kinds of idiots oiut there.
  19. If your lawyer has not suggested it already, in addition to money damages, you will want to seek a permanent injunction ordering this guy to cease all his harassing activity. This will give the judge the ability to jail him if he continues. That is, if he violates the injunction, you can move the court to hold him in contempt. One of the punishments for contempt is jail time. If this guy has a history, it is likely the judge is going to put him in jail. All that is on the civil side. Nothing says you cannot press criminal charges at the same time if available. Again, I am surre your lawyer can advise on this. Good luck.
  20. In my state (KY) there are two criminal charges that would fit: Harassing communications -- calling someone on the telephone for no reason other than to harass, and terroristic threatening -- threatening bodily harm. Both are misdemeanors, but that would be enough to get him hauled up before a judge to answer and defend. Here the process would be initiated by you swearing out a warrant with the local prosecutor's office. Instead of the police, try contacting the local county attorney or commonwealths attorney (or whatever they call him) and see if there is a charge that fits. Good luck.
