  1. If you are shooting skeet/trap, I would definitely opt for a semi-auto. The 870 is a great shotgun but, go with the 1187, you will be happy you did.
  2. Thanks Wiley. We have never met but you seem like a real stand up guy.
  3. Come on Wiley, how many folks need to request samples?????? I'll take multiple samples if that helps.
  4. Ditto on the assclowns that ignore NO Wake zones. My boat died at a ramp on the ICW a couple of weeks ago and I had to walk it around from the outside to the inside to get it back to the ramp itself. At least 3 idiots plowed through the area totally oblivious (or just didn't care) about the wake they threw up. One put out a wake 2+ feet tall. It was all I could do to keep my boat from beating itself to death on the dock. Man I hate those guys.
  5. No, actually I am sitting at my desk while you make my day suck even more. Thanks!! I'll survive, I will be down in Largo next month. Won't want to come home I am sure.
  6. Sounds like a leak somewhere, the trick will be narrowing it down. I have a 70 Yamaha and a couple of weeks ago started the motor and it ran fine for a minute or so and then cutoff. I finally used the emergency fuel enrichment switch and it started but would only stay running a minute or so. I took it home and later discovered that plastic bowl on the fuel filter (inside the cowling) was not tight so it was leaking. I figured out the motor would start because I was priming it but, once the bowl emptied out, the motor would stop. After tightening it, I have had no problems. Just a thought, good luck.
  7. Yes, from what I understand, blue crabs are out down there. I have been lobstering before but unfortunately we will be leaving about the time the season opens. Thanks for the info on the seafood place, I hope we won't need to go there but nice to have a backup plan.
  8. Come on people, you can't get it if you don't ask for it.
  9. Nobody out there has any words of wisdom on this subject?
  10. That was a really nice thing to do. It is sad though that you even had to think about "what if?". Sometimes you just have to go with your heart and do what you know is right.
  11. Besides the anguish I feel for everyone directly impacted in that area and the animals being killed and the environmental destruction, it has not effected me at all. Unless, you count the number of times my kids have asked me if our July trip to Key Largo is going to be ruined. I was born in Pensacola so it was really hard seeing shots of the pass with brown goo floating in it.
  12. Here in SC, we crab for blue crabs. My kids love catching and my wife loves eating them. We will be in the Key Largo area in July. Can you or is it worth while to crab for blues in that area? We are staying right on the water near a mangrove creek so it would be great if the kids could sit on the dock and crab and Mom and dad could supervise while enjoying a libation. Thanks
  13. I would love it if you are willing to part with some. I have actually never tried it and would like to but have not wanted to drop $30 on something I have never tried.
  14. Wait a minute, I thought I was special? My Mom always said I was.
  15. I am guessing it is not free with the purchase of say, a life jacket or something like that?
  16. I have a 2006 Tundra with the factory Bridgestones and they are ready to be replaced after only 32,000 miles. They have not worn well despite balancing/rotating every 5,000 miles. 90% of my driving is hwy/city streets. I do tow an 18' CC on the weekends. I am looking at Firestone Destination LE's, Yokohama Geolander HT-S and the General Grabber HTS. Right now I am leaning towards the general as it has been getting great reviews and I have found a good "out the door" price. Does anyone have any first-hand knowledge of any of these tires that would be willing to share? Thanks!
  17. I recently redid my console. All I had before this "redo" was a tilt/trim and a fuel gauge. I added several other gauges/switches, one of which is a tach. I have 2 issues, 1) the needle on the tach moves to 0 when I turn the ignition on but, once the motor is running, it drops back to below 0 and never moves again until I turn the ignition back off and, and 2) the tilt/trim gauge is not in sync with the motor (does not accurately reflect the motor position). I am positive the T/T gauge is hooked up correctly because I used the same wiring that was already there and the same brand (Faria) gauge. Is there an "adjustment" or something somewhere to fix this? As for the tach, it is hooked up according to the instructions. Is it likely my brand new tach is broken? Thanks for any input. Oops. 2003 Yamaha 70TLRB Faria Coral gauges My wife may be right, I am stupid.
  18. I'd rather have it and not need it than................we'll, you know the rest. You never know when you had no intention of being on the water after dark but plans/situations change, sometimes outside your span of control.
  19. No stereo on the boat. I love the sounds of nature when I am out as I am bombarded by other "sounds" all week.
  20. Nice, my photos would have consisted of me sitting at the landing pissed off because I could not keep my boat running. Dragged it 2 hours to the coast with the wife and kids only to turn around and drag it right back. Found the problem the next day, the fuel filter cup (inside the cowling) was loose so the engine would start because the bowl was full from squeezing the primer bulb but, once it emptied out, it was sucking air. Can't believe I did not see that at the ramp. Oh well, there is always next weekend.
  21. I personally do not Facebook, Twitter or any of that other stuff. Not knocking anyone that does but, I simply do not have the time/interest to do so. I opened a FB account to see someone on it and then forgot about it. I started getting friend invitations from people I did not even know and some from people I knew from high school that I didn't like then (30 year ago. I really like this site but there does seem to be a lack of traffic and I don't know why. I do get on another site (Charlestonfishing.com) but that is because it is local to me. Don't give up Wiley. I think the reel boaters/fishermen (I put myself in there loosely) will keep coming here and you will see growth, it just may take a little longer.
