  1. Hey Bend-Lure, I think you are going to have a hard time finding them. I believe your options when the unit was new were Furuno or Navionics cards. Navionics does not make cards for that unit anymore. I would call Furuno tech support and ask them directly. They might be able to sell you something that would work. Furuno Chart cards Furuno phone: 360-834-9300
  2. I don't personally have a Furuno FF on my boat, but I have helped set them up and they are very nice IMO. As far as the transducer goes, they offer all the standard types to interface with either FCV295 or the FCV585. They have Thru Hull, Tilted TH, Transom mount, In hull etc, may different options that will work. The R299 in hull is big in size and is pretty expensive, however it works very well. Are you leaning towards using an in hull ducer? Rich
  3. I was talking to a Raymarine tech on another matter this morning, I past along your question. He said it shouldn't be a problem and that there were only two wires in that cable, the green and yellow. Mentioned that you said you wanted to use the Switchcraft EN3 series, and he said that it would be fine. If you want to call Raymarine Tech support yourself: 603 881 5200 Rich
  4. Hey FishinPole2, Maybe this will help: The Ray54 accepts NMEA 0183 (V1.5) data from a position determining device (such as a GPS) to provide the Latitude and Longitude position information that is transmitted during a DSC Distress Call. When valid NMEA signal is detected, the GPS indicator appears on the LCD.When no valid NMEA signal is detected, the NO GPS indicator appears. Connect the NMEA OUT + and NMEA OUT – signals from the positioning device to the NMEA IN + (yellow) and NMEA IN – (green) wires in the radio’s NMEA cable. GPS NEMA OUT + <-> RAY54 NEMA IN + (yellow) GPS NEMA OUT - <-> RAY54 NEMA IN - (green) Hope that helps, Rich
  5. WEAKFISH, If the pop ups are showing up while simply using your computer, not necessarily while browsing the web, you probably have been infected with some sort of spyware / malware. Over the years theses malware applications have morphed into some real nasty buggers. Make sure your Virus protection is up to date and run a full scan on your system partition ( most likely your C:\ drive) see if it comes up with anything. I have used plenty of spyware killer applications over the years and have found a few that work really well. Try installing malwarebytes and run a full scan on your system. You can download it for free here: http://malwarebytes.org/ I have had good results with it. Give it a try it might help. Rich
