Sounds like a good idea to me. Less forums to look through for the same amount or hopefully more information.

We have not had a problem with ours and have just over 250 hours since April 08. Yes they are a little thirsty but that is a trade off on being able to push the size boats that they are hung on. Tons of torque getting on plane and also staying on plane at lower speeds.

Tubing Fatality near Baltimore

That is a shame and fairly close to home for me. -
What was your first boat?
Gillagorilla replied to Fubar512's topic in Boating and Fishing Discussion
The first boat that my dad bought when I was young was a 1981 North American cuddy and cant remember what engine it had though. The first boat that I bought was a 1987 Sea Ray Pachanga 22' with a 350cid and Alpha drive. Was a pretty cool boat for only being 20 years old and sounded nice with the mufflers instead of being straight open exhaust like most other boats in that style. -
Nice fish she caught there. I love the colors on those Dolphin.

Seems like my dad is getting the bug for a Convertible in the 35' range. We know that we would not want a lower helm, want to keep it around a 2000 model year or newer and diesel of course. We all like the layout of the Luhrs 36 Convertible, I know about the 41 thread and lower quality BUT it has a heck of a layout and love the stairs up to the bridge. From everything that I have read about the 36 it sounds like Luhrs did not skimp on the important structural stuff and below the water line. I also like the layout of the 37' Riviera but that is a little to much $$$, although the 36 Riviera Convertible is nice but looks like most of them have the lower helm. Any other boats that you all can suggest along with the pros and cons. Price would probably be around $180k roughly.

Mike what other lines do you sell there?

Robalo boat owners forum
Gillagorilla replied to Gillagorilla's topic in Boating and Fishing Discussion
Wiley I first found out about this site from Rogers thread on RBO.com -
Anyone know what happened to the Robola Boat Owners forum and how long it might be down. It was working fine last night when I looked, now its down.
-
Yep I'm here out of Manassas but the boat is down in Point Lookout Marina in Southern MD. It would be nice to see at least a Mid Atlantic forum if not a Chesapeake forum.

We have been using TLD 15, 20 and 30's for three seasons now trolling to stripers in the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac with no problems from the reels. Only a self inflicted problem with on 15 reel.

We have been running a 2008 Robalo with twin F350's for a year now. The engine have been flawless so far with 150 hours on them. We had the flywheel recall done two months ago by our dealer and they said everything was looking good on the engines. I am just wondering what other owners are seeing out of their F350's, other than being a little thristy they have been great to us. Especially coming from our last boat with twin 2001 Optimax's

My brother and new sister in law are flying into St. Martin tomorrow morning and would like to get out off shore fishing a day or two. I am looking to see if anyone has fished down there and had a good boat to recommend. They want to have just the two of them out there along with the Capt. and mate. Also he does not want to pay for a large charter boat maybe in the 25-30' range. I appreciate any suggestions that you can make and I will get the info to him if he does not read it on here himself first. Wiley I know this should be in the sport fishing section but this one gets a lot more action.

Here is two pics of the sunset from Point Lookout marina on the Lower Potomac river where our boat is kept. The stern faces almost due west for these sunsets. -

Gillagorilla replied to auguste's topic in Boating and Fishing Discussion
Hey Gus good luck tomorrow and Monday. Looking forward to hopefully see a ton of pictures of the boat and ride up to NC. -
Trying out a video of us Striper fishing on 4-25-09 for my brothers bachelor weekend of fishing, boating and cleaning the boat. We all had a good time, even cleaning the boat in 92 degree hot sunny skies on the Sunday. Hope it works and enjoy.
