  1. My 150 did the same, long hose run and 10 minutes overheat, stuck it in real water and no problems.....
  2. I have the same Mariner. 1989 40 hp. This power head is identical to the 40C 2cylinder Yamaha, pleanty of parts still available, Carb kits are like 30.00, I even have a Electric Start COnversion kit, has soleniods, new starter, and matching flywheel. Just do not now if I am going to use as have found a newer Yammy 30..
  3. Red or Blue....Blue or Red Do Not Forget to VOTE Tomorrow
  4. Sold...BP bought it, I towed it to the incident theatre and put a Capt on it and got $$$$ / day.... They paid for it in full within 2 weeks...and now I have plenty to cover Capt/Deck Hand wages...
  5. Ended up borrowing a OSRV, I had to get it oiled when I did some site surveys for equipment deployment. TIA
  6. As title sAys looking for 1/2 day or full day boat rental/charter for SITREP Anything avail. ?
  7. Boat still available, hate to see it sit on trailer and get no use, I only put 5 hours on it since Christmas Banks will loan 23K on this rig as it sits, a steal @ $ 17,000.00
  8. The first two pix are of Prestige, the crude carrier spill off of Spain and then DWH GOM
  9. Actually this is condensate from the well, it does have some crude product, if it were a true crude oil spill it would not have such a far reaching sheen spill. The warm weather environment speeds evaporation and dispersing through natural ways Good news is that roughly 50% of the condensate evaporates in the first 24 hours. the rest becomes more viscous material that resembles the properties of crude oil. On another note the more viscous the material the easier it is to collect through booming and mechanical skimming. Remember this is not a refined product it is straight from the tap per se I will post some pix to show difference from condensate to crude spills Updates can be seen here if Wiley approves ]http://www.deepwaterhorizonresponse.com/go/doc/2931/532827/
  10. Yep, its real big deal, I ususally do not get mobilized unless it is a "SONS" Headed to Houston on Sunday, have to be at incident cc at Westlake then onto NOLA and Houma Anybody else going to be local that I can hook up for some local intel tia Derek
  11. "Temporary Insanity II" I wonder what happened to TI 1 and what is Temp Insane III ?
  12. Got to make sure the garboard plug is installed....
  13. As the title sez, I just got back from completing a 7 day "business trip" in the Islands, we ended up island hoping in my colleagues Beech Barron. We started out departing FXE (Florida Executive) on Wednesday March 9 and arrived in Freeport a short time later, I had the opportunity to fish around the east end of Freeport but got blown out, this was the story on Nassua and Eluthera also the wind finally died down enough on Day 4 to get out and fish some local areas on Andros, stayed at this great little place called Small Hope Loodge where everything was all inclusive (except fishing and diving) including the top shelf bar, it was serve yourself though... On Andros we went after some bones on the flats but with all of the fronts moving through all of the fish were deep. At the end of our 1/2 day charter we hit the "Honey Hole" within an hour we boated 7 small Bones, four Pompano, several Gray snappers, two yellow tail and a nice mutton and a big ole cuda. The guide kept the cuda and Snapper for dinner.
  14. Still available...located on Lower Biscayne Bay, FL
  15. Still shopping, looking for that perfect 30-35' express boat... Plenty out there but in poor condition, looked at two Wellcraft 290's one was represented as showroom new and in fact needed 4K paint and fill job and another 6-10K on rewire and repair The other 290 the HIN, Documentation No. and Reg. # did not match..... Headed to FTL Show on Thursday anybody else ?
  16. Been looking at a few older Battle Wagons over the past several months and a 1979 Bertram 46 has work its way up on the short list... The Bert is cosmetically pleasing and mechanically sound, majors were done on the 871 Naturals 1000 hours ago, engines had 3500 hours when majored It seems rebuilding these 71 series are very cost effective versus repower Let me know your personal experiences and non planned failure.
  17. Gene One, is that the same Korean Manufacturer that makes the "Wonder Wheel" that was used in Richard Pryor/Jackie Gleason flick "The Toy" http://www.geneone-inflatable-boat.com/won.htm
  18. Going to be used as trade-in and I am sure I will get screwed, any best offers before Dr. Jellyfinger gets a hold of me?
  19. Jay...I can not believe your selling the trailer queen..... Guys this is one clean boat, sold and serviced by Bluewater Yacht and raises the crap out of fish, I have personally fished it from Hatteras to CLT (Chesapeake Light Tower) supper efficient and clean... If I did not need a Express Boat for an infant son I would be on this like the clap on a 10 kroner hoooooooker..........
  20. Well since Alicia and I finally have a infant son, we are moving up to a Wellcraft Coastal 290 circa 2000-2003 We have an offer in pending survey on a 2001, just waiting to see how it pans out......
  21. THe boat is currently located at Ocean Reef, Key Largo in a wet slip. The boat was used mainly Chesepeake Bay and Outer Banks prior to moving south...... I have used it only two seaons or loing season in South Florida I have no problem towing it anywhere on the eastern seaboard for a buyer as long as it is south of Obama's House ( Washinton DC)
  22. Looking spiffy and looking proper are two different ballparks. Regardless how the bottom paint looks it serves a purpose, best advice is to keep it in good repair and find a color that you like..... Going on the cheap with top side paint will only agrevate you, ante up the $130 per gallon and get her done right.....

  24. I was looking for some real world opinions and comments on the 1999 - 2003 Wellcraft 290 I have found two identical models one with new genny and ficht rams and one w/o genny and 1000 hour plus Mercs The goal is for a comfortable family fisher for use in Key Biscayne and Keys areas The motors are a non issue as whichever one I purchase it will be repowered with 300 Suzukis I am leaning towards the one with the genny as it is roughly the same price My conerns are construction overall wiring and other mechanicals and comfort of ride The boat will get surveyed Are they any other boat models in the 30' range I should be looking at? Outboards are a must have. Thanks in advance And as a side note my 2005 Maycraft will be in the for sale forum later this weekend
  25. Just not enough kick for it to be a close range 9mm....I call it staged Here is a real 9mm test from The Discovery Channel Either way Darwin is about to claim another one.....
