  1. The Giant Red Drum have been at the Charleston jetties now for a few weeks. The bite is getting better every day. Most of the big fish have been caught while using fresh cut, and live menhaden while fishing close to the rocks on the bottom. We have caught a few on Sebile hard plastic artificials while casting up in the rocks. Good size menhaden are being caught at front beach Morris Island and in the Intracoastal Waterway. Nothing big yet,,,but good size. The largest of the week was this 45.5" fat one. This fish was heavy!
  2. Ha-Ha-Ha,,It suks dont it,,,I took the pills to clean me out the last time I did it. Im due for another one this year,,,but I think they did away with the pills, Im not sure.
  3. I have the 2003 model of the same motor. They told me at the dealer that the motor would run hot while on the muffs and not to use them. I have always flushed mine while using the little hose that comes out of the block that's made to flush the motor with....................... Remember,,you can test the thermostats your self in a pot of water on the stove with a thermometer,,,,,,,,Before you buy new ones. I would put the boat in the water and run it before I did anything.
  4. I didnt win guys,,,but thanks for your vote and time.....................

  6. Man,,,,,thats crazy!! I could never live up there............... Here in Charleston,SC we have had plenty days in the 80's and the pollen is every where. Our water temp is around 64 degrees. It wont be long before the giant red drum and the Cobia show up!
  7. Those guys have there shit together! They make the best looking boat on the market! (And that's guide certified!)
  8. Here is an E-mail that I received from a retired Marine Biologists here in Charleston,SC that worked here at DNR,,, Rick, Did you see the latest issue of (The magazine)? I didn't know that fishing guides gave away the numbers on which they base their way of making a living. It turns out that (the guide) gave away a significant number of my fishing spots. To locate these, I've spent many hours running around and checking the river. Fishing pressure is pretty light on the river. You can go out during the week and maybe see five or six other boats. Most of them are guides (seasonally) working out of the Marina. When there are boats out there, the anglers are courteous and give you space. After people read (The Guide's) article, I'll bet you have an increase in folks on the river, especially at my spots. I don't understand why he gave away all the best spots in the river. I'll bet there are a bunch of guides who are real pissed at him. I don't have a warm and fuzzy feeling towards him - when someone gets something for nothing they don't appreciate it - I bet that there were fishermen and friends who showed him where to go at what tide; he sold them out. Gives guides a bad rep.
  9. There is a state wide magazine that in the last two issues published about eight fishing locations that are "Tight-lipped" by most of the local guides. Me as a native guide here in Charleston think its very wrong for one; the magazine to publish, and two; for another guide to give away locations (for publicity reasons) that we (other guides) have found to be productive in our line of business. Its just something you dont do. Now every body that knows how to use a GPS will be there every chance they get, and the next thing you know, ALL of the fish will be gone. I have seen it happen to many times. Don't get me wrong,,,I'm not saying that the weekend warrior shouldn't go out and catch fish and have a good time. A good fishing location is something you earn. And Its something you just dont GIVE away......................... I just dont think its right.....Whats your comment?
  10. That .50cal is a monster! I have held one, and was offered to shoot it but didn't. Here is what I want to get for the hip. The ruger LCR in a .38cal This is one sweet little gun! I have shot this one. Here is my Taurus Raging Bull.454 Casull that I hunt with. 300Gr at 1,800 feet per second. Its pretty bad!
  11. Thats some pretty good photoshop work on a few of those.......................
  12. Yeah,,,,,,,let us have a big fish kill and see how much coverage it gets on world news......................SOB's!
  13. Dont take this the wrong way, but standing on the transom while your not moving is a little different than being offshore in ruff seas while underway,,,,,,ya know.
  14. Im no pro at re-powering boats,,,but I did see on "Ship-Shape" TV that if you add extra weight on the back of a boat like you want to do,,you should move the fuel tank forward to compensate for the extra weight on the back.
  15. I wonder how many RPM's those props are turning? 25,000?
