Wow. I always think that an IPS drive is asking for trouble.....but my favorite boat is my inboard Fish Nautique...LOL. Any reasonable person would say it is no different if you have the prop forward of the shaft or behind the shaft- if you hit something hard on the bottom it will hurt you.and Props to Sea Vee, one of my all time favorites is the Sea Vee 25 IB, it was a standard setter.
