Made the most of a hookup last weekend on light tackle. 30lb braid but the "system" held together. Fish was 51inches and the fight was a little under two hours. Good thing we brought the fancy equipment. Caught on my buddies Whitewater 32.

I guess you know this but that Gander Mtn reel is really a Pflueger Medalist. Its all I use! I try to tell everyone that they make a great reel!

Funny right?!? I haver all this expensive crap on my boat up in the Northeast, but Im going to buy a couple $75 outfits for giggles. NOW- I have no idea if that drag will ever stop a fish again, but for that price who cares.

I was not laughing at you WW28,,,I was laughing at the thought that most people don't think that a Pflueger reel would do something like that.................

I catch 35" red drum on a 40 size Pflueger Medalist quite often

Did you check the drag out on the reel?
