Hitch Question

I tow boat wid a combo pintle/ball hitch.

If I grind maybe 2/16's" off pintle latch,

it would lock down over trailer hitch ball

providing an absolute "lock".

Any reason I shouldn't ?

I can't think of one providing you have the clearance from the normal lock.

Pintle is a great hitch system. Don't understand why boat trailers aren't pintle or at least give yer the option.

Dis is what I'm talkin' about,

grinding just a small amout off

the hinged piece that is directly over

the ball.

When the hinged piece is locked "down" and pinned,

no way could trailer coupler ever come off.

I could still use hitch as pintle hitch for my other trailer.

I knew just what you were talking about. I only need pictures for.... Never mind.

BTW it might be a lot easier to chuck that ball in a lathe and take the .125 off the top of it. Grinding that much stock of that forged casting might suck a little.

That's the hitch I got. Took the passenger door clean off a Ford Focus one day. Chick dring by drifted into it when I wuz parked. She on the cell phone (dumbitch). I said "Hey, you scratched my pintle hook" $4K damage to her can $0 damage to my truck. hahahahahahaaaaaaaaaa
