Humpback Whale In New York Harbor

Recommended Posts

It's to bad that whale has to be swimming around in that polluted water.
That is pretty much a dated stereotype from 30-40 years ago.

Sure there is still wok to be done, but the harbor is significantly cleaner than it was when I was a kid.

In the past 20 years or so, a lot of marine life has returned to the rivers and harbor.

The YouTube post was incredible. I'm originally from NY and we could go whale watching off Montauk in Long Island. It was fantastic, but we never saw a humpback. When I first saw this post I was concerned that the whale was lost or injured - I'm happy to read that that doesn't seem to be the case.

I can tell you one thing - if I were still in NY I would have been absent from work a couple of days so I could go whalewatching !
