  1. Nida bond is another product for pouring transoms. You might want to make sure where the stringer systems attaches to the transom that the stringers have not rotted also. It is also important to clean out the old wood and get the inner fiberglass clean enough for the pour system to bond too.
  2. Try http://www.updplastics.com/ If they do not have it they can make it
  3. Yes I will sell them once I install the longer ones. They are 3"x10"x10' and will be 3 years old in June. Not sure about shipping.
  4. I just ordered 2 new bunks for mine. 3"x12"x12feet of cypress. $147.00 each. The originals are in great shape but to short for the boat. The transom hangs off the back of the bunks 6"
  5. You should be fine with the truck. Do everything above and carry plenty of tools and 2 spare tires. If any of your tires are showing wear on the edges your axles may need aligned. Around town it will be fine but you can wear out tires in a hurry in just several hundred miles. You could wind up needing new tires part way through the trip. Also if you have Sea Tow or Boat US get their trailer roadside insurance, its cheap and it may come in handy if something drastic happens. Thats a long haul, take your time, stop often and check your trailer condition. Check your hubs for excessive heat. Have a good safe trip.
  6. Anyone had any experiences or know anything about Mitzi Skiffs? I was thinking of buying a used one. Any pro or cons would be appreciated. Thanks
  7. Would Wild Cherry flavor work?LOL I thought a rubber band would work.
  8. Sounds to me like you have already answered your own question. If you have that much doubt in the engine and the outdrive and it is no longer manufatured or supported then parts and service will be hard to come by. If you plan on keeping the boat for a long time then why not go new? Even going new you may have issues with the opening in the transom to match up with a different outdrive manufacture (openig size, mounting bolt hole pattern). Also the engine mounts may have to move forward or back to aling with the new out drive and shaft length. Riser and exhaust piping.( these are just some extra cost you may run into.) But once done you would have a warranty and a peice of mind out on the water. My vote is to go new if you can afford to.
  9. Late November is hit and miss with the weather(winds). Both times I been down for thanksgiving the winds are blowing and we got offshore 2 of the seven days. The rest were spent inshore. It would help in knowing what type of boat you are taking, ie. offshore, flats, or bay? I do not know too much about the flats or backcountry fishing but if you are going offshore I can give you what I know. Just let me know by pm or e-mail.
  10. as a vessel engaged in fishing at all times and has the right of way over all pleasure craft.
  11. If you are looking for a really good wide tire for suv and pickup say with 18"+ rims I would go with the Yokohama Sprada Spec-X. I put these on my Suburban and Tundra. Had Goodyears on the Suburban and Pirelli on the Tundra. It was night and day. The Yokohama stopped the wandering, the road noise and the highspeed vibration. I get a little vibration when cold but get a little heat in them and they are the best. Also check out the ratings @ http://www.tirerack.com/index_w.jsp great comparisons and good feed back from consumers. Hope this helps.
  12. As Walter would say......"Dumba$$es" "I'll bet you cant do it again"
  13. Hotspot, that pipe is corragated on the inside too, everything will get hung up in there that makes it through your gutters. Leaves, pine straw, acorns or whatever get hung up in the groves and then keeps building up. It's best to use pipe with a hard smooth innerwall like the one shown above and then the debris will be less likely to get hung up. They make a root killer you can try but it may harm your grass and trees. If you think it might be collasped you can have a plumbing company run a camera down it and see if that is the case. I'm not sure what they charge up there but here its about $300.00. Good Luck
  14. The corragated pipe is to soft to put an auger down or a sewer machine with any kind of head on it. You will tear up or tear through the pipe on the inside and make your situation worse. Flushing out with a water hose or calling a plumber with a jet machine will work the best. Your pipe is probably full of tree and grass roots and even jetting it will only be a temporary fix. It's going to be tough work and it may be easier to replace it. Just my 2cents. I guess I should have asked first.....you are talking about the black plastic pipe, correct?
  15. Can you check my butt and see if its water tight? Oh stop it.....you guy's quack me up.
  16. WOW! what a video. Did anyone find out what happened to the driver? He should have had the Autotether! Would be a good advertisment for them.
  17. Ludicrous, it's a standard version of windows photo gallery.
  18. Thanks for the grammar lesson. It's more of a typing thing. Hope you enjoyed it anyways. LOL
  19. This will be one of the most memorable fishing trips ever with my best friend and wife Kathy (one in the same). The day started out with a quick run down the beach to get some live bait. Got where the bait was along with several other boats and made a couple of casts with the sabiki rod and brought back one ribbon fish. A guy approached us and asked if we want a couple of dozen pogies so we took them and off to the fishing grounds. We got within a 1/4 mile of the area and I always like to troll up to and around different spots to see if any takers are out there. Nothing. We marked a couple of bottom spots when trolling so we went back to them and decided to bottom bounce. I only had some of my deeper water rigs made so we used them, 16oz lead. We caught a couple of black sea bass when my wife noticed something swimming at the boat, I looked over and wow nice dolphin and I saw another one with it. This is when the fun starts.... I am all wound up scream holy crap we gotta find something to throw at them....about that time I heard splash....my wife had just thrown her 16oz bottom rig with a pogie on it at the dolphin and wham! Fish on! I told her to keep fighting him and I am running around the boat all frantic looking for something else. I see a rod with a king fish rig on it, I slap a pogie on it and cast it out and wham! fish on! Now we are both fighting about 15-20# fish. After a few minutes of fighting I hear POP, my wifes braid snaps at the swivel, DAMN! She puts her rod down and comes and gaffs mine and in the box. After a couple of more drops and bringing up a shark we decide to go out a little deeper. We got out to some reefs and trolled around them. Nothing. Back to bottom bouncing. We were making our first drift across and I had put out a livey on a spinning rod just to see. We started our second drift we had 2 baits on the bottom when all of a sudden the spinning rod makes a qiuck zing. I told my wife that something was messing with it and about that time zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzing. I grab the spinning rod and set the drag and WOW this is a strong fish. Now the fun starts all over again. The fish is spooling me and we still have 2 rigs on the bottom, so in my calm joe cool manner (screaming like a little girl) reel those baits up, start the motors, get the camera, I'm getting spooled, reel the.... get the boat going, hurry hurry hurry! We managed to start chasing this fish. 45 minutes later we boat the 1st for Reel-Fin-Addict and my 1st ever SAIL!
  20. I like the orange one, it comes with a TV. lol
