ReelBoating 2.0 - Looking for about 20 BETA testers

The new software is insane! Which is a good thing.

Will most likely become ReelBoating 2.0. Wiley prefers to be innovative.

Looks like a Social Engine site. The new features look great. Is it pretty easy to work with?

Yes, I've worked enough with that software mindset to where things are making sense pretty quickly.

It's open source software and very expensive but needs to be done. I really see the forum-style format becoming a thing of the past - very quickly.

Along with informative discussions the new format also allows for some quick chit-chat, which on here requires 4 clicks just to read sometimes.

I'm thinking it'll be online as soon as May 1st with this forum becoming a huge archive.

I'll see what it takes with a DIAL UP connection tonight and let ya know.

OK, I just noticed there are 13 computers where I'm [ WIFI ] at so it makes it just a little faster that dial up right now.

I also have the test site in non-cache mode right now. Which will slow it down a bit.

Are you saying you're not planning to migrate the existing forum data over? I think it would be highly advantageous existing content.

I don't think the content, usernames etc will migrate.

This forum will become an archive only.

I may be pushing the launch date of the new format closer to mid-April rather than May 1.

Ya'll might want to go take a look and give some feedback otherwise it's full steam ahead.

This forum has a really good mobile interface. Look great on my droid and my wife's iPhone. The new forum does not a mobile interface. It always amazes me that vBulletin (software for THT and hundreds of other forums) does have a mobile interface.

A good developer familiar with Social Engine could migrate forum messages/users to your new forum in less than a week of work. Maybe 30-40 hours of work, and perhaps less. Maybe the Social Engine guys could refer someone.
