Question: ReelBoating is working with marine product manufacturers and pro-fishermen on a website filled with fishing seminars, detailed product videos and group discounts. As a website visitor would you be willing to pay a small monthly fee for this access or do you still feel the internet is free?

Free. A fee to participate means I don't participate. The whole internet thing doesn't raise to the level of a hobby to me.

So, you wouldn't purchase informational DVD's or books on fishing or other subjects?

If you do, then why not do the same but watching and downloading online?

The web site would have offer a lot to have a fee , and would expect fee based site to be free of spam

Plenty of instructional content would be offered. Reasonable fee. Along with product coupons etc.

No junk ads.

I have no idea as to why/how you left THT. I am a casual visitor to several sites. With the little traffic on your site, it is hard to see why it should charge.

ReelBoating actually receives pretty good traffic. Don't judge the lack of nonsense posts with the actual web traffic.

The question is not about a fee for this website as it is now. It is about having an informative website with multimedia, instruction.

Most forums like THT offer nothing but banter, no content, nothing whatsoever from the owners. I'd rather not continue that route here.

Free...whenever you sign up for something that includes a "small monthly fee" you end up not using what you paid for....I'd rather pick something and pay for it as I go or if I want, rather than pay whether you like the product or not....its like cable TV when you have to buy a package with 5 good channels and 50 crap channels...you may be paying for something you dont want or need.

That setup can also be offered and was actually the original plan, just a bit more difficult to setup.
