There is one thing that you have to be when starting your own site, or forum...and I have done it, theprolineguy.... You must expect your members to behave in a manner that you would want them to, and most likely, they will take that cue from YOUR behavior on the other forums out there that you frequent.

Don't be a hardass, don't think that you are better than anyone else, entertain many different ideas although they may be contrary to what you might think, don't tell them they can't cuss, in general, be cool about it. And also learn from those who become members and add valuable information. Some forum founders do it simply because they think they know more than the others on the forums they visit. Fatal mistake...

AND DON'T START, NOR TOLERATE, A "BILGE"!!!! :605_thumbs_up:
