I think that the "Pages" concept works much better for business promotion and business interaction on Facebook.

Not to mention that using a personal profile for a business is expressly prohibited by FB's TOS.

The "friends" method gives you more networking options.

I just added about 100 friends over the past week who were using the friends method for their business, and not the "like" pages method.

Facebook is for connecting and sharing with your real life friends. If you are sending friend requests to people you don't know, you may be disabled.

Yeah... they give you 40 recommendations for new friends to add... but after adding 10 of so of them they warn you about adding too many friends.

Facebook can get weird after a while, been using it for about 5 years and have over 1,000 "friends" from college... It picks and chooses when it wants to work. But is quite effective for local businesses in my area promoting sales, fundraisers and adoptions (pet) etc...
