Time to replace the Goodyear marithons on my trailer. I remember reading about some issues with the late generation of Goodyear marithons. Looking for some input on what seems to be holding up for you folks!

Several years back they had a sidewall issue, I believe it was resolved and all is okay now. Your tire guy should know.

My 4 year old Carlisle Steel Belted Radials with 30k miles still look good.

when buying tires make sure there not old tires.I bought some a little while back and allthough they where new tires they where allmost 8 years old.needless to say they only lasted for 2 160 mile trips.they have a code on them and that code will have the date on it

My old radial Carlisles did well for a couple of years but started to get chopped up... I have since replaced them with Denmans and they have so far (about a year later) performed well and show no real wear... I would never use bias Carlisle tires..

That is the tire that gave them a bad name. Dealers seem to put the cheapest tire on the trailer they can get away with and most times the tire is overloaded.

I have the Denmans as well for about a year and half. No signs of wear just yet and no issues. I got these at Tire Kingdom mounted and balanced (4 tires) for just under $400. They even added anti-sieze and tourqued them to the trailer spec.

One of the biggest problems we have with ANY tire is improper inflation , get and USE a good air gauge.

Isn't this the truth! I have learned this lesson from a previous trailer tire replacement. The big temperature swings change the air pressure on these tires. I now check them alot and fill up at the same time when I get fuel for the boat.

We had the Goodyear problems on the interstate while on vacation in Florida. Stoped at a Goodyear store in St.Mary's Georgia and the dealer replaced all 4 tires with TowMaster tires. Said while selling tires on the coast for a lot of trailers, TowMasters have never failed and last a long time. He stocked TowMasters over Goodyear branded tires because of the lack of quality and backing from Goodyear. We have had the TowMasters on now for just over 2 years with no problems at all.
