Lowrance GPS problem solved

Recommended Posts

Several weeks ago I requested some help in solving my Lowrance GPS dropping out. From your posts I got to Lowrance and ran through the diagnostics and everything checked out but something just did not make sense. I only got one message that the GPS is not responding with the unit.

Well I had not updated my SD chip in several years, now know you should do it several times a year. Checked for the chip but could not get it out, then I looked some more and realized I had no chip installed. It has been stolen, parked right next to my house with sensor lights on, two bull dogs that bark at crack of any noise. So was it stolen at home or on the way home from a fishing trip. I never leave the boat unattended and park it in the parking lot where I can see it if I get a sandwich. Obviously some one had to watch me and for a total of probably 30 seconds - it was gone.

I protect and watch everything else but i just forgot about that chip and that i paid $200 for it. Will I take the chip out, no, going to take the whole unit out every time.

So someone probably got a deal on ebay or craigs list.

Just a reminder for everyone, guard your chip - you can never let your guard down.

Sure have not been on the boat - it keeps snowing in Richmond, but at least i am not in Washington.

Until the snow stops --
