Large flat screen TV help

Two years ago we got a 42" Panasonic, plasma for 1/2 price on black Friday. I believe it was $850.00 +/-.

We have been satisfied.

When we were picking it up a guy was returning a 52" Mitsubishi and getting the 42 Panasonic. I asked him why? He said after getting it home he then looked on line and did some homework (yes, after he made the first purchase) and found the reviews good enough on the Panasonic, and I guess not so hot on the Mitsubishi, that he wanted to make the change.

We found good reviews also. We could not pass up the price.

Panasonic, and Mitsubishi are both good products. I service/sell them all, and mainly it goes down to what the consumer likes, and the money. Sony & Samsung are my top two products. I am in the Audio/Video Business, and mainly do multiple things at once, such as surround sound, and a TV, intercoms, lighting, ect... (Whole Systems). All of my customers trust me to tell them what is best, and they depend on me for that. I do a complete job, and not just drop a TV off on there front porch. I deliver the TV, hook it up, make it the easiest thing for them to use, and setup the picture the best I can. All of my sells/installs are done like I would do at my own home.

The main things I can recommend in purchasing a TV is:

(1) Stick with a name brand (due to parts availability, & ease of service if ever needed),

(2) I would highly recommend an extended warranty, just due to the out of warranty repairs & amounts I see.

(3) And finally research as much as possible, due to one manufacturer may have a product slightly better than the other, depending on the time of the year/models that they are producing.
