Time to wax your boat? Find boat wax competitors to Woody Wax. Feel free to add your own experiences.

The ReelBoating relationship with Woody Wax goes back many years. In fact, They were even my first advertiser back in The Hull Truth days. I have watched their boat care products develop to the point where Woody Wax has arguably become the most popular wax for boats. But, how does Woody Wax stand up to the other boat wax and boat cleaner products of today?

Woody Wax products are available through their (somewhat outdated) website however the preferred method of purchase is via Amazon.

One issue that seemed to follow Woody Wax around the internet was some confusion and difficulty of their application process. Thankfully Woody Wax added a “how to apply” area on their (again, somewhat outdated) website.

There are many boat wax competitors to Woody Wax.

Here are the best wax products for boats:
Woody Wax – Developer is a longtime boater
Collinite Wax – Great results but requires a process
Meguires Wax – Said to be the easiest to use
Rejex Wax – High gloss wax
Starbrite – Product line specific to marine products
PTFE Wax – Car wax works well with boats
3m Wax – The classic favorite wax

Collinite gives great results but often needs a top coat, while Meguires is often said to be the simplest application on fiberglass boats

The amount of discussion regarding the best boat wax is endless. One should contact each manufacturer to see if they offer free wax samples.

Feel free to add your own experiences.

Woody Wax has a solid reputation.  I've heard it's often a go-to for wooden boat lovers, and it's been developed by someone who knows the boating ropes. Collinite Wax is the classic and gives great results but it can be a bit of a process to apply and buff. Meguiar's Wax is the one to use when you want something easy. Very user-friendly and gets the job done. Rejex Wax, is all about the gloss. If you want your boat to look like it's ready for a photo shoot use Rejex. Starbrite has a whole range of marine products, so at least you know their wax is made with boats in mind. Some people swear by using car wax, like the PTFE wax, on their boats. They say it works just as well and can save a few bucks.  3M Wax is trusty and reliable, it's been a go-to for ages.

Yes, I've used a lot of waxes!  😂
