Boat lift/davit for aluminum skiff

Recommended Posts

I don't know the name of the particular system I am looking for..or if it even exists. I have seen a setup on piers with two curved pipes with a cable and two winches to lift a skiff and let it hang next to a pier. Is this a system or just something created with various parts. I have seen some davit systems, but the least expensive was around $800.00. The skiff only cost $200.00 so I don;t want to spend that much.

Any help, comments, etc would be appreciated.

My cousin built a ramp that goes into the water next to his dock that is " The dingy Ramp " it works well for Kayaks, skiffs and dogs.

Just drive up on it part way , get out and pull the skiff up , High and Dry. for the heavier skiffs he has a hand cranked wench mounted to the dock so can wench if need be .
