Who makes a Great Sabiki Rod?

Need two more. Need 8' conventional, I use Shimano TR200-G's on my sabiki rods. I'd prefer the next two sabiki rods last a few seasons:

On my third rod this season. Three different brands, sorry don't have them in front of me, however, there has not been one that performed well. Seriously considering just keepin an older rod and Penn 650ss set up on board with a Sabiki. Even if I catch enough bait and end up throwing away a $2 sabiki from walmart so hooks are"nt in way it would take a year or so til I threw away enough sabiki's to justify the price of another Sabiki rod. Also, will have the extra rod on board for casting to breaking fish. Finally, you know, if you loose the end of the line in those sabiki rods, precious minutes are lost recovering bait. As you can tell, not a big fan of them after three years.

I agree with Florida. No one makes a great sabiki rod. With rod storage space at a premium with 4 fishermen on board, 4 single purpose rods are a waste of space. Add to that they are heavy and have very little flex and you have one bad bait fishing set up.

I'm starting to agree. I will switch to regular ol' rods and throw them up out of the way on the t-top rocket launchers when not in use.

Here is a link to a sabiki saver tube, I saw a DIY model in a magizine either Saltwater Sportsman or boat us mag. Much better idea that the overpriced rods.

Get a pool noodle and cut i open, lengthwise. When you put your sibiki rig back on the rod, wrap the pool noodle around it. Use a rubber band or two to keep it from popping open.

When you're done with the Sibiki, wrap it around a 6" long piece of noodle, and dig the hooks into the noodle.

Saving sabiki rigs is not the function I'm looking for. I usually loose half a dozen of more each trip to toothy critters. I just don't like 6 little gold hooks catching my clothes and skin all the time. Easy enough to put them up high on the t-top when not in use.
