Picture resizing

Recommended Posts

I use Photobucket to store some of my pix. When you upload your pix, it gives you five or six different options as far as resizing. Since I shoot many pix at 8 or 10 mp, I downsize most of them to 640x480 for posting purposes.

And it IS a freebie.

A good picture resizer is located here: Microsoft Power Toys Image Resizer

This is a TRUE Windows Accessory Tool.

To use it, simply right click over a picture file and you will see "Resize Pictures."

Follow the directions in the dialog box from there.

That is all there is to it. Easy to use and works great. It also compresses the pictures.

Second the MS Image Resizer if you want to resize images on your computer.

3rd vote for the MS resizer.

One of the nice things about it is that it creates a resized COPY of the original rather than resizing the original.

A caveat though: It appends (small) to the filename (i.e. "DSC100025.jpg" becomes "DSC100025 (small).jpg") which some systems have trouble dealing with - I just rename it to remove the parantheses from (small) which resolve the filename problem some apps have trouble with.
