North Korean Prisons!

Recommended Posts

I first posted this on THT but it quickly turned into a political discussion (how suprising!) and it was not ment to turn into one. I thought people would be interested in this report on NK prisons. I am not asking for opinions on the two journalist and if they should sent to prison.

I thought I would post this fasciniating article I found. It was written by David Hawk for the US Committee for Human Rights of North Korea. Hawk went to South Korea and interviewed former prisoners and prison guards of the conditions of numerous prisons and work camps in NK. Hard to believe that people could be treated so poorly for crimes they did not commit. A NK citizen goes, visits relatives in China, comes back and thrown in prison for treason! And to think, inmates complain in this country about conditions! Ha! It is long, about 120 pages but there are many very interesting sections. There are numerous satelite photos of the prisons on the later pages.

Not hard to believe at all in a dictator ran state. I just heard the third son has been selected to continue his fathers rain of terror. It was pretty smart to select the youngest. This will guarantee there murderous conditions.

Looks pretty similar to what Saddam did.
