Cleaning Awlgrip paint

Recommended Posts

I had a chemist on my boat one day and I asked him about the issue I had with salt on my boat after a charter. He told me to use Dawn dish washing soap mixed with water. The soap is acidic (High p/H)

Man,,,That stuff works great! I bought me a pump up garden sprayer, put in about 1/2 a cup of soap with two and a half gallons of water.

I spray it on the boat and motor, let it set for just a min, and then rinse it off. Looks like I washed it by hand with a cloth..........I use this same routine every day on my rod and reels and my cast net. You should try it. I have done this for years with no problems!

The only bad thing about using Dawn, is that it cuts the wax off. (I dont wax anything I own) Ha-Ha-Ha.
