Furuno FCV295

I don't personally have a Furuno FF on my boat, but I have helped set them up and they are very nice IMO. As far as the transducer goes, they offer all the standard types to interface with either FCV295 or the FCV585. They have Thru Hull, Tilted TH, Transom mount, In hull etc, may different options that will work. The R299 in hull is big in size and is pretty expensive, however it works very well. Are you leaning towards using an in hull ducer?

I am going with FCV 295 the R299 in hull. The builder said it would fit. I order it today. I hope it is all that people say it is.

My friend just installed his FCV 585 and drilled the hull for Airmar B164 Tilted Element. It's 1000Watt unit for a dead rise between 5, 12, and 20 degree. He trailers his boat (26 Ft. C.C.) so wanted a low profile unit under the boat so not to hit one of the bunks. It's what I'm going with also. What a difference in holding the bottom and you can mark your spot and make a way point if you find something interesting. You have the same option on the 295. I wish I had the room along with my other instruments. Anyway I like separate units just in case one takes a dump. It's just my preference.
