A older Friend of mine has this AQ140 with the dual carb any tricks on how to adjust them it wont idol now. It will only start if I pour gas in it Thanks Tim

Ok you can try rebuilding both carbs, sounds like they are all gunked up. I bet they are rochester carbs.

Remove them from the manifold, split the bottom from the top half, and allow them to soak in acetone over night, make sure the whole carb is submerged.

In the morning you remove them and blow dry with compressed air, and with a can of carb cleaner blow theu ever little hole, make sure EVERY hole is spotless.

Then with the compressed air blow dry again repeat till its clean, reassemble carb, and reinstall with a fresh gasket, on the manifold.

When both are reinstalled, turn in the adjustment screw carefully, GENTLY, YOU DO NOT WANT TO BEND THE BALL ON THE END OF THE ADJUSTMENT SCREWS, till they bottom out.

Then back out with both screw 2-2 1/2 turns to start.

There is a screen / filter at the inlet fitting of each carb remove and clean or replace each filter. There is a filter in the fuel pump, clean it.

Then disconnect the inlet hose from the fuel pump and put temp a hose on to a external tank of fresh fuel. Dribble a little gas in each carb. And fire it up.

Or you can take both carbs to a pro and let him rebuild them.

Follow the yellow brick road. Filters, floats, needle valves, passage ways...blah blah.

Found a solex manual online:

It's pumping fuel up to the carb fitting? You do a pressure test to see what pressure the pump is giving you? 4-6 psi no less, a little more is ok.There is no way around the carbs being rebuilt. what you really need is a link to where the carb rebuild kits are being sold.
