To me a mixture of Bleach and soap with a nylon brush is the best way to go?

Soft Scrub seems to work fairly well. Slather it on, wait 10-15min, scrub it off.

Bleach based products may harm the thread in your cushions. I just remived minor mildew spotting on mine with this and a brush. It came clean in seconds. If yours are badly stained, this may not work, but its worth a try.

Bleach with a lemon smell. Funny how it worked better than the straight bleach I used.

This stuff is a multipurpose attack on Bacteria, Algae and Fungus. Kills the microbes that are the causes. Follow directions, great for getting the fish smell out of ice chests and bait wells, too.

Here's the deal - yes, you can use regular bleach and it will remove mildew stains. It may also remove the thread holding the upholstery together within a few hours or days. Big deal - the stains are gone, so stop whining.

Star brite's MSR uses a buffered bleach that will not destroy the thread. I know - using a product that is specifically made for a marine application sounds kind of gay to me, too. Real mean use Jet A and a match for all cleaning applications.
