  1. What's always puzzled me about this is that in the consumer electronics/computer world, every time some ditzy manufacturer comes out with these "non user replaceable" batteries, within about two weeks a whole bunch of guys have hacked the battery replacement, and post sources for the batteries, pix of the dis and re-assembly, etc. Why not in the marine world? I know these are "safety related," but still that's never stopped the hackers in most areas. Why not with the marine? And it's not the same as trying to repack your own liferaft. Battery is just a battery, and then there is the seal issue to contend with. But still, should still be possible. McMurdo/Revere just took a step backward with their last new PLB. The two models before had user-replaceable batteries. The new one does not. Of course the new one is about 60% the price of the old ones, so maybe paying more for battery reinstall is reasonable.
  2. Capt. Thunder About the pic you posted, I take it that is a pair of straps. I imagine you only install one on a single engine installation? Where exactly do the three lugs (two round and one toothed) go? I take it one on the cylinder apparatus somewhere and one on the engine, probably on the mount. But the third one? Thanks, I am a little concerned about this issue. Will be interesting to see what Bob (250 Osprey) comes up with.
  3. Dawg So you're from BPK, but I'm thinkin' that pic sure isn't. Looks like the midwest or the southeast in summer, on a lake. Where's it from?
  4. Ummm, errr, is "org**m" a, cough, you know, a "wet" boat? (Dayem, I see Wiley has the same bad-language nanny editor here. One of the few better things the new guys did at THT was get rid of that.)
  5. On the home page, down toward the bottom just above the "Board Statistics" is a command to "remove all cookies set by this site" or something like that. Give it a try.
  6. Well, ABoater, welcome. Too bad your regular username was taken here.
  7. Kern Do you know if other Hondas (specifically of concern to me, the older 90 and the 130) use the same valves--two part, inertia welded? Thanks
